Re: Expansion

So the 2 hour drive from Cambridge-Kitchener-Waterloo-Stratford ( little less for Listowel and Elmira) is too out of the way but the 2 hour drive for St Marys-London- St Thomas-Komoka to Lasalle and Leamington is acceptable The Midwest and the Shoe aren't used to travel, for the majority, their lon...

Re: Strathroy

Was definitely a great game to watch. I was a little concerned when we gave up those 2 quick goals to go down 3 0, but we fought back.

Anyone know why Chatham changed goalies after their 3rd goal?

Re: Expansion

I've heard that it's been discussed at league meetings about expanding to 4 Conferences or contracting to 2 Conferences, so we'll see what happens. I've heard that not much actually gets accomplished at league meetings because there are quite a few GM's with their own agendas or they're just stubbo...

Re: Trade deadline

Here's all the transactions on Pointstreak for the West since Jan. 1. Nothing blockbuster, and no real fire sales that I note, but St. Thomas has made a lot of moves. Jan 10 Komoka - Pearce, Carson (D) added to team from Odessa Jackalopes (NAHL) Komoka - Maidment, Ben (F) traded to team in differen...

Re: Strathroy

We have picked up Branden Speziale from St Thomas. It's not ideal that Emmett got traded, but he wants to be in the OHL, and we're a development league, so good on him to reach his goal. He'll be missed, he scored at the most opportune times, but he wasn't the reason for our recent success and we'l...

With 13-19 games left, we're officially in the push for play-offs. Any surprises thus far? How do we think it'll finish?

They both played on Dec 22, so I wouldn't call that 'earlier in the season', but I heard last night that they'd decided to not return, and 1 of them is on the Powassan roster.

Re: Trade deadline

But the main page has a list of other boards, including a Midwest board.

This is traditionally the West board, I'm not sure why Admin changed the name, so we usually stick to talking about the West.

You guys never talk about the best Division, the Mid West Division.

Like SugarKing said, the Midwest has their own board, although it's rarely used, but perhaps you'd like to start a discussion and get it going.

Last 10 Games

Because I like trends, I've gone through each team's last 10 games.

London - 4-5-1
Leamington - 8-2
Chatham - 4-5-1
Sarnia - 4-3-3
LaSalle - 5-3-1-1
St Thomas - 4-4-1-1
Strathroy - 6-4
Komoka - 3-6-0-1
St Marys - 1-7-1-1

Anyone surprised by anything?

Re: You had to see this one coming!

https://www.facebook.com/TheRocketGirl16/videos/205206827069546/ Due to the player safety mandate that the OHA has been on the last several years, I'm surprised with their decision. This kid went down hard. Also, they usually stand behind the decisions made by their officials and it's rare that the...

Since making the trades, Leamington is 3-0 and Chatham is 1-2. I know it's still early, but we'll see how this works out for them.

Re: Prospects Games & Showcase

I doubt there will be a Showcase this season. Without all 25 teams on board, the games wouldn't count towards the season, and it's a lot of money to spend for exhibition games.

The Prospects Game should go as planned, just interested to see if all 25 teams will be represented.

Last night was another good game. We battled the Maroons all game and had opportunities to tie that game and even win it. There was nothing Diamond could do on any of the 3 goals. Not to get ahead of myself here, but I think that maybe the Rockets have finally figured out this league and how to pla...

Re: Leamington loses to Strathroy again?

Yeah, it was a great game to watch. It was back and forth. Leamington scored 1:02 into the game and I thought that's how things were going to go, but Strathroy held it together and fought back from being down 3-1 to tie it 4-4 and then scored 2 huge goals to go ahead 5-4 and then 6-5. It was a grea...

Re: OHA Changes

I'm excited to see what changes will be made for next season. There was a league vote this week on if teams wanted Inc to be in charge. Prior to the vote, it was 15 teams for Inc and 10 teams against. I'm told that after the vote, it was 19 in favour of Inc. I know who 3 of the teams were that flip...
