This political correctness is pathetic. What's said on the ice stays on the ice! Had Shaw made that 'slur' towards an openly gay person, I'd agree that it's uncalled for and disgusting. But it was said in slang. A slang that many of use when cracking a joke, etc.
Shaw didn't look at a gay person and degrade them. He yelled something that pretty much anyone who's ever played hockey has yelled, or heard someone yell at some point. It's actually yelled a lot in the heat of the moment.
I feel bad for this young man, he's been thrown in the pressure cooker, it's a witch hunt. The Chicago reporter, who's openly gay... His comments made me sick! He say's those words are why so many hide in the closet, terrified to come out.
Give it up!!! I have two gay friends, and I know several gay people in general. One friend, who I've known since I was a boy, cracks jokes calling us gay, etc. all the time. It's called humor.
The political correctness of today's world is just unreal. Unlike some, I say what's on my mind a lot. I've gotten a lot of grief over it over the years. But that's their problem... Not mine, its called the real world. Some people are just too serious, or simply like to find things to cry about.
Get over it already!!! That felt better.
