Where to play?
Looking for some help. Son is a 99 birth year in the gthl and had a good season. i've seen a few ojhl games and am pretty sure he could make a mid pack team as a bottom 6 forward. I like the small town vibe of junior b. Trying to gauge the talent level and likelihood of making a decent team? He's a good student and kid so not overly worried about billeting situation.

Re: Where to play?
Most teams in Jr. B will only billet if the kid could play in the Top 9 Fwd or Top 4 D.
Has he gotten any Jr. B camp invites?

Quite a few to jr a and b across a few leagues as well as a couple of verbals to OhL camps as a free agent.
Needs a good year of junior before he can seriously challenge for an OHL spot.

Well it is a good league. Not that far off of the OJHL.Gthl dad wrote:Quite a few to jr a and b across a few leagues as well as a couple of verbals to OhL camps as a free agent.

What teams in Jr. B? That will play a big role in whether he should pursue the camp invitation or not. Look for teams with opportunity but also possibly a young team he can fit in.

Leamington, Caledonia, St.Catharines, Chatham, London, LaSalle, Niagara Falls, Kitchener, etc. All great organizations for a kid who's looking to advance in his hockey career.
Caledonia will have a lot of graduating players. If your son has a high compete level, that's something to look in to.
