I like your thinking. I'm going with Leamington in 7, but I know Chatham can win this series. If they give it everything they have, and don't take any lazy shifts... They can win this series.

Chatham has good depth and Johnston's been playing some great hockey. :)

Note to Chatham players:

Play every second of every shift like it could be your last. Take nothing for granted. One mistake, or one lazy play can be the difference in this series. Defense first, the offense will come.

I feel that this group is better than last years group. As long as everyone buys in and knows their roles, there's nothing to worry about. Go hard 100% of the time and this series is yours!

Go Chatham Go!

Brad we finally agree. Its going to be a great series and both arenas will see HUGE crowds. Chatham vs Leamington is what playoff hockey is all about.

With the two towns only 45 minutes apart you should see fans from both sides at the opposing team’s home arena. What a great atmosphere is going to be.

It is the young coach in Chatham that I have been impressed with all year. He has some great systems and I’m sure they will be well prepared. But a coach can only do so much. I hope Chatham players come ready to play.

Both series are difficult to predict, which like everyone has noted means there should be some entertaining hockey ahead. Give the edge to Leamington over Chatham. Don't think either of these teams is as strong this year as they were last year, but still very good opponents. The difference in rink size could be the difference in the series, which gives Leamington the advantage -- Flyers very hard to beat in their own rink. Like the Flyers, Lasalle and London play on big ice and prefer wide open games. This series could go long or short, depending on which Nats team shows up. They've been running hot and cold all season, but when they're on their game get the job done better than the best in the west (e.g., beat Leamington 3X and tied them once in reg season). Goaltending could be the difference in this series. Edge to London.

Speaking of Wall, as he did in the regular season, he entered his name into the play-off record book. In Game 1 against St. Marys, the Lincolns only registered 1 shot on net in the first period, which entered Wall with fewest saves in a period. St. Marys only had 11 shots in the total game, gives Wall the Leamington franchise record for fewest saves in a game.
Is the 1 shot on net in a period a GOJHL record? Because Caledonia had a period with no shots on goal surrendered in their series...

The reference in the article was "gives Wall the Leamington franchise record for fewest saves in a game." It was a Leamington franchise record, not a league record, which clearly goes to Caledonia with no shots surrendered.

Thanks for trying to back me up, but no, I was referring to the league record. The version of the record book that I have has the fewest saves in a period at 1, which lists both Wall and Sinclair.

I try to update the copy that I have when I notice things and I didn't notice the 0 shots in a period.

Thanks Flyers. Pretty sure, though, that the Vipers rink is still bigger than Sarnia (Brock Street), Chatham and Strathroy, yes? Leamington and London are the boys most adept to playing pond hockey on their big ice surfaces, but I've always thought LaSalle has a strong skating club that can hold its own on the Olympic boxes.

So far, GOFAN999 looks like s/he has the clearest crystal ball in predicting victors in round 2. Who would have guessed three road wins in the first three games Flyers vs Maroons? Game 4 is huge and the memorial rink in Chatham will be a zoo tonight. Meanwhile, despite close scores and shot advantages for LaSalle, Nats are looking like the dominant team in the other series -- it will end tonight on London's home ice.
