With 5 AJHL based teams leaving the AJ for the BCHL...Hockey Canada's junior A division appears to be coming apart at the seams.
There appears to be life outside of Hockey Canada. Hopefully this league's leadership will finally see this as factual!!

I'm curious as to why they did this in the middle of the season, which ultimately led to all of them being suspended. What was the point of doing it now rather than wait until the season was over?? Now those kids don't get to finish out their season.

Still curious as to the legal implications of this...they are still members in good standing. Looks like someone circumvented their own Constitution. Are there not penalties for teams who refuse to play? Should there also be rules in place that allow these teams to play? Afterall, their actions in no way impacted this season. Next year maybe, but not this season!!
Ohhhh to be a spiteful member of the Hockey Canada family!

Those five teams are going to finish the season playing an exhibition schedule in the BC league.

Re: Ouch!!
They are competing within their own division and will play against the BCHL Divisions Champion for the BCHL Championship.
Great PR move by the BCHL to get these kids back on the ice for meaningful games!
