Now that it's confirmed Brantford will be a Jr. B team this year...
With its rookie camp out of the way and its intersquad game played on Saturday, the Brantford 99ers are beginning to take shape.

And one of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League team’s newest signees is already on Hockey Canada’s radar.

Among the new players general manager Darren DeDobbelaer signed over the weekend was defencemen Mark Wooley.

The 15-year-old from St. Thomas not only signed with the 99ers, but this week he was named to Hockey Canada’s under-17 camp roster.

Picked in the third round, 54th overall by the Guelph Storm in the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Wooley played for the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs last season.

Another newcomer is forward Jordan Stock, who played for the Hamilton Huskies and was a fifth-round pick of the Hamilton Bulldogs.

The 99ers bulked up with junior experience with forward Dante Felicetti, who played for the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Burlington Cougars. The 99ers have also added four more players with junior hockey experience. Brandon Waterhouse is a forward that played for the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Dundas Blues and goalie Cameron Gratton played for the Paris Mounties.

Forward Christian Polillo returns home after a season with the Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs, and is joined by Darcy Redwood, a defencemen who was with the Cambridge Winterhawks.

“We like what we have done so far,” DeDobbelaer said. “We still have lots of work ahead of us.”

Along with the new recruits, they will be joined by a number of returning players, including forwards Hunter Dubecki, Eric DeDobbelaer, Max Racicot, Kyle West and Kyle Walker. On defence, Will Hurley and Marty Nowysz return, while Evan Reinhart is also back between the pipes.

That's not a bad looking roster with a good core of guys who can all be impact players like Dubecki, West, Walker...

Hearing Kyle Walker is now in Woodstock, apparently Woodstock coughed up some big money to get him.

A good veteran defence a good job here. But with Walker gone who's going to do the scoring.

I see they got Troy Henley from Caledonia. No surprise to many 20 year olds in Caledonia.
Brantford still looks to have a better year than last year they already have made the playoffs.

Have to disagree here. LOOK STRONG what would have the headline be if Brantford lost.
The score was 2-1.Then they lost to Strathroy 5-4. Pelham beat Strathroy 4-3 I'll say that again Pelham beat Strathroy.
Pelham had 12 wins and Buffalo had 3 wins last year and that's only because of Thorold.
Brantford didn't look good should have won both games easily.
