nice win by chatham, keeps them right in the race for 3rd, should be a fun final week for most of the teams battling for playoff positioning.

I'm hoping Chatham can climb back into 3rd because I want them to play Sarnia in the first round. I know that Mark Davis doesn't want to face Chatham, but that will be a good series.

Should Sarnia play Chatham, it would certainly cut down the cost of buses. Might even get more Sarnia fans making their way down to Chatham since it's a relatively short drive.

Because the bus wouldn't drive as far they would save money? I don't think Chatham or Sarnia would be that concerned over a few nickels. Good point about fan attendance.

There are a couple of ways it could save money. If the rinks are very close to each other then everyone drives in their own vehicles so no bus is required at all. I did notice that Sarnia now takes a school bus to Strathroy instead of renting a coach. There is significant savings in renting a school bus over a coach. I don't know what kind of a bus they take to Chatham.

I understand that Sarnia takes a bus to every game, especially this time of year where the weather is questionable.

But as for a series, I'm looking at it as Roeszler vs. Davis. You have a coach in his first full season as a head coach vs. a seasoned Jr. B and C veteran who has a tremendous amount of play-off experience and success.

I would love a series against Sarnia. Just for the Davis factor. :)

My thoughts exactly. I'd love to see the rookie defeat the veteran. But it won't be easy if that series happens. Davis will have them firing on all cylinders. But I'm sure there's a few Maroons itching to play against Davis too. :)

By all accounts, the players who played under Davis liked and respected him. Won't be a 'grudge match' like it would be against LaSalle (Bowler).
Rookie will be out-coached once again but scoring ability and skill level may propel Chatham in a Sarnia/Chatham match-up.

I believe that Sarnia uses (sometimes?) a school bus/coach hybrid if I understand correctly. It looks like a school bus on the outside but has coach style seats. No video or bathrooms on board, cheaper than Badder -- so I've been told.

For sure. Just saying it would feel great to defeat such a well known and respected hockey guy. Especially when he taught/coached some of them in the past. :)
