Former one handed Jr.B player Scott Stafford makes it pro

Post by Port hockey1 »

Former Thorold Blackhawk and St.Thomas Star forward Scott Stafford has signed with a pro team in Germany. A very unique person and hockey player, Stafford was born without a left hand. He was a great Jr.B & Senior A player despite playing with one hand.

Former teammates say he has an amazing shot. I remember him being fast and crafty when he was in Thorold. In fact I remember him having a way of holding his stick with his handles arm somehow...I can still see him blocking shots with his stick on the wrong side...amazing.

A person commented that he used to quip..."All my goals are short-handed".

There is a story about him online.

When he played in Thorold I remember thinking he's one of the best penalty killers I've seen .
