St Mary's Lincolns
The Lincolns did it, Western Conference champions. It's something they were building for since last year...good staff good players.
Re: St Mary's Lincolns
The best team certainly won. Coming back from being down 3-2 in the series and winning all 3 games in London is very impressive. Thirty years is a very long time to wait between championships. London has certainly won the West enough winning 6 of the previous 10 championships.
The Komoka-Lambton Shores-Petrolia franchise now tops the West. It's been 21 years since the Jets won. After that it is Strathroy (17 years), Sarnia (15), LaSalle (14), St. Thomas (13), London (5) and Chatham (2).
As far as Sutherland Cups are concerned Fort Erie has never won. Caledonia won 3 cups in a row (2014, 2015, 2016). Listowel has won one cup (2018) while the Lincs haven't won in 48 years (1976) and previously 61 years ago (1963).

Wow!! 30 years since they last won the championship. 1994 was the one and only time that they decided to go with a six team round-robin playoff format. St. Marys Lincolns and Petrolia Jets from the West, Waterloo Siskins and Cambridge Winter Hawks from the Mid-West, and St. Catharines Falcons and Thorold Blackhawks from the 'Shoe.

As far as cups go, I'm pretty sure the only team's in the Shoe to win one were, Niagara Falls, Thorold, St.Catharines, & Caledonia.Marcie wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 4:59 pm The best team certainly won. Considering the Lincs were a doormat in this conference for so long, it’s that much more impressive with this turnaround. I’m not sure how many years they were either 8 or 9, but in the last 3 they went from 5th, 3rd and now 2nd. They don’t seem really old either so maybe they move up to first next year. Big time changing of the guard in the west
