You had to see this one coming!
In the rematch of Monday's Kilty/Canucks game in Niagara Falls Friday Hamilton's Freddie Teeple and Niagara's Patrick McCabe got into it early in the third period with Teeple getting a minimum of 5 games for attempt to injure and fighting and McCabe getting a singleton for 'no helmet' and fighting. Canucks' captain Ben Evans got four games at the end of the game, also for attempt to injure.

What wasn't seen was the sucker punch Evans threw at the conclusion of the game.
He got 4 games for his cheap shot and possibly more to come.

Apparently the OHA has reversed the suspension of the Canucks' leading pointscorer. They must have got a better view than the video that is currently going around on Twitter that was taken from so far away the poor Kilty could have been struck by lightning. Word is he received a concussion, could safety concerns be selectively applied?

Due to the player safety mandate that the OHA has been on the last several years, I'm surprised with their decision. This kid went down hard. Also, they usually stand behind the decisions made by their officials and it's rare that they reverse them.

The OHA is more lenient with players that target the head compared to many other junior branches under Hockey Canada. The GOJHL does not have supplemental discipline rules like the Jr A leagues do. With the exception of some rare occasions only the minimum sanction is applied even with repeat offenders.

Perhaps with Inc having some control now, they will implement their own suspension list.

Kiltys and Canucks meet three more times this season- Fri. Dec. 21 in NF and back-to-back Mondays, the 14th. and 21st. of January in Hamilton. Could make for some interesting encounters!

Do you also have video of the McCabe/Teeple incident and what lead to the 5 games for attempt to injure for Teeple?RocketGirl wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:50 pm https://www.facebook.com/TheRocketGirl1 ... 827069546/
