Social Media
It may just be me, but I feel that the social media amongst the teams could really be improved

Re: Social Media
Especially in this day and age were social media is so inexpensive and so powerful in terms of connecting with anyone, anywhere, anytime! It would definitely help teams in terms of fan support and player marketing.

Re: Social Media
Over the past couple years in this conference, Welland has really stepped up their social media and promotional stuff, but after that most team's struggle using social media to promote their team, which is unfortunate to see in this day in age.

Need the right people. Any time I've asked around at Ayr games, Paris games, Cambridge games... I've been told that the business side of staff are generally older and have a hard time finding people willing to volunteer to help with that side of things.
Maybe people frrom this board can step up with their local teams?

Re: Social Media
In addition to older people within management not understanding social media, they don't give the people that can use it the information to put it out there.

It also effects minor hockey there, so not just the junior teams ownership.Love our game wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:36 am Welland ice problems carry into another year! How does ownership fix the ice? Do you see it outside? This heat makes it difficult to maintain the ice. The game in LaSalle was cancelled tonight for the same reason.

Re: Social Media
Welland has been fighting with the city to put in the ice early for years now and they will not. Hence why basically no teams play out of there anymore because the city has run them all out of town. Not to mention a city and town right next door have new rinks.

Re: Social Media
Granted owners don't always have much to say in terms of arena ice management, etc. But if Wellands ownership was not to blame for any or all things gone wrong for that team. Why is it that only 1 player from the entire roster from last year has returned? Players usually can't wait to come back and play for a team if it was a positive experience on and off the ice regardless of the previous season Win or Loss stats?
Re: Social Media
Very interesting considering that they don't believe in charging to play. With Niagara College in town and low cost to play you would think that they would attract a lot of good kids. Noticed that the fee commentary on the Welland website is not on there anymore .Love our game wrote: ↑Sun Sep 09, 2018 10:39 pm Granted owners don't always have much to say in terms of arena ice management, etc. But if Wellands ownership was not to blame for any or all things gone wrong for that team. I know for a fact that the $750 and the OHA administration fee had to be paid to play for that team before they could step on the ice for 1st game at showcase!
Re: Social Media
Nobody is arguing that fact. Was just saying that you cant blame ownership for the ice not being ready. They do not run the arenas.Love our game wrote: ↑Sun Sep 09, 2018 10:39 pm Granted owners don't always have much to say in terms of arena ice management, etc. But if Wellands ownership was not to blame for any or all things gone wrong for that team.
