Re: Commish
Chuck told me at the Showcase that he had resigned, effective the end of the month. He said that when he had taken the role it was only supposed to be for a year or so, until the league had established a good governing body. He said it was time to step away.
Good luck to Mark Tuck, he'll do a great job until they have a chance to find a replacement.

Re: Commish
Lets hope the new Commish is someone that has the ability and planning skills to move this great GOJHL organization into levels it deserves to be at. His many skills should include the ability to unite this fractured situation the league is faced with today. After all, this League was recognized as one of the top ten development leagues in North America and this was accomplished without the "A" status. We as fans support this league because we believe its worth our support.
To all of you team owners, governors and community based operators, lets start working together for whats best for all. Bury your grudges, put on your working boots, lets all start pulling the rope instead of trying to push it. Lets show the powers to be how great we can be.
The future is bright for the GOJHL. You must insure that you choose the right person to lead and unite all 26 teams and that, that individual has the leadership skills, communication skills and knowledge of the current situation the GOJHL faces today. You don't really need some old vet that has been around for years and has connections in all 3 levels of hockey governance. You need a candidate with a sound plan, fresh blood, new ideas, a good hockey organization background , proven results and a desire to succeed.
Good luck in your search.

Re: Commish
I am hopefully for a more "youthful" commissioner. But hockey at any level is an old boys club. I guess time will tell. Any names floating around that could potentially be of value?jfvoll wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 10:12 amThat's who they'll get.BeenThereDoneThat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 12:20 am You don't really need some old vet that has been around for years and has connections in all 3 levels of hockey governance.
I’ve always been a fan of junior hockey at all levels. It’s about the kids. Cheers.
Re: Commish
Would love if they would post a job posting for the position. Might give them a chance to envision the duties that a potential would handle.

Re: Commish
I don't recall that they advertised the first time around, it was just announced that Chuck was hired,
so I don't think it'll be any different this time.

Re: Commish
Well look at that, they've advertised for the job. Applications will be accepted up to Dec 14.

Re: Commish
Dec.14th has come and past. Hoping in the next week or so, that the GOJHL will announce who the successful candidate is in their search for a new Commish. Would be nice to see the new year begin with the new Commish in place.
