Not a great game played by Essex including the goaltending. Give Ayr credit, they sure capitalized on all of Essex's mistakes.

Now the next 2 games are played in Ayr.
I'm not a big fan of this 1-2-2-1-1 schedule
I know some people like it but I don't

I think it was just a scheduling conflict, normally it is just 1-1-1-1-1-1-1.

Grimsby always has a good team. They have not been able to reach the plateau of those powerhouse teams of 2003 and 2004 in recent years though. Even their victory over Alliston a few years back was more a result of solid goaltending (Brad Pope) than anything else.

Alliston 2 Port Hope 1
To take a 1-0 lead in the semi.

Looks like Alliston kept Port Hope's high power offence in check.

Ary take a commanding 3-0 game lead.
X JR-B players making a difference for Ary.
Cash Seraphim and Mitch Kile lights out hockey.
If they want they get to do this again next year as overagers.
Might see more players do this with the rule changes in JR - B

Port Hope 6-4 winners over Alliston
Series tie 1-1
Port Hope 50 shots on goal
A short handed empty net goal by Port Hope late in the game made it 6-4

Just wondering if Alliston show up last night.
Lost 3-0 one was empty net
0-5 on the PP
And only 17 shots on net
4 in the third
Congrats to Port Hope Panthers to advance to the Schmalz Cup final.

Good read on the final. It's hard to pick a winner here I like both clubs.
Might come down to goaltening. Ary goaltender as crazy numbers.

Series isn't over yet but I am surprised that Ayr took the 1st two games. Must remember Pot Hope was down 0-3 last year before rallying only to lose game 7 1-0 0n home ice to Essex.

Ayr has been surprising... But the talent is there. They must have the right people behind the bench, because Dorchester already proved that talent means nothing without the proper leadership.

Your right I don't think Port Hope is going out that easy.
Ayr goalie Mitch Figuerdo has been the differs. Port Hope 82 shots on net in two games.
And a lot of the time Port is out playing Ayr. But Ary is getting the big timely goals.

Ayr is now a win away from a Provincial title as they won game three 5-2. Goaltending has been the difference as Ayr was outshot again tonight.

Ayr wins their first Schmaltz Cup after defeating Pt. Hope 5-2 sweeping the series in four games. Even more impressive is the fact that Ayr only lost three playoff games during this whole run and swept both the semi's and the final series. Congrats to Ayr on one hell of a run.
