Fans supporting Leamington

Post by flyers2011 »

This season the Leamington Flyers have had overwhelming support from there fans. Last night the flyers had there annual teddy bear toss which drew 1,337 fans this marks the 3rd time this season they have had over 1,000 fans at a game and its only December. The year before Piroski and the New ownership took over the Flyers drew an average of 315 fans per game and in the short playoff run drew 191 fans. Over the last couple playoff runs the Flyers have had huge crowds, once drawing over 2,000. This years average attendance is 3rd in the GOJHL at 841. Has to feel great for the players to have such great support to see a proud organization revived like the Flyers have been.

They are definitely doing something right. Being in first place and having the talent they have certainly helps to draw fans. From what I've read about the organization they are also very involved in the community. Could be lessons for other teams to follow if they strive to get better fan support.

Hats off to the Flyer's organization for doing it the way it was meant to be done. :smt041
