The November Series

Post by goalie34 »

From Friday November 6 till Thursday Dec 3 the Falcons and Avalanche will play a total of five games against each other. Exactly half of the Falcons ten games during that stretch will be against the same opponent, for the Avalanche it will be five of eleven.

Very important games for these two teams as it's becoming more and more apparent that this is a three team league. Three very good teams, one very bad teams, three below average teams and one above average team.

They should just cancel the first round of the playoffs and jump right to the semis. First place in the regular season will be huge this year as it's basically a bye straight to the final.

Season only a 1/3 of the way through. Lots of hockey to play! But anyone could of called what you say before the season started. Yes the second round will be much better hockey, usually is.

Falcons already win series with a 3-0 lead. Other games this month show a disturbing tread for the Falcons though. Playing to the level of your opponent isn't the mark of a championship team. Losses to Thorold and Fort Erie are unacceptable. It's great that you can get up for teams like Ancaster and Caledonia but you also have to win the games you are suppose to win.

Anyone playing with a full deck wouldn't expect this trend to continue into the playoffs, but these regular season loses to teams they should never lose to might well cost them home ice at some point in the playoffs. Hopefully the coaching addition/change might improve their approach to the game, all games that is.
