Amazing!!
I don't know if that was sarcasm, so I'll assume it was. It is amazing though in my opinion. You'd think St.Catharines, Ancaster, Welland, or even Niagara Falls would at least have one player up there.

I mean other than Caledonia, only Ancaster has a player in the GOJHL's top 25.

Say what you wan't about Caledonia, but they only hold 5 of the top 25 spots. It is very odd to see only one other player from this division in that category.

I'll take it as a positive though, must mean most of our teams rely on balance over a top unit. :)

Not sarcasm at all. It says a lot about the horseshoe, especially Caledonia. But no surprise at all. They are an offensive machine.

I hear ya re the other teams, but St. Kitts is not known for high powered offence, no matter what anyone says, including coach Girhiny. He has put some great chess pieces in to place (especially his #1 goalie), but they thrive on defense. Defending their end, and winning low scoring games. The problem with that is, they may struggle to survive past the first round if they can't score more than 3 or 4 goals against the likes of Caledonia, Ancaster and Welland. It will be next to impossible for them to hold Caledonia to 1 or 2 goals in a seven game series.

That being said, they may only be one legitimate goal scorer away from putting them in real contention.

Seeing as you mentioned welland! It is remarkable what they have achieved without a true goal scorer! Don't believe they have had one in the top 25 in years.

I credit coach Osborne a lot. He gets his players to buy into his systems 100%. That, and they've had two amazingly talented goalies for a few years. Both of their goalies are capable of winning games on their own.

But they need to find a pair of power forwards. A center/play-maker, and a pure scoring winger. Without that, defense & goaltending can only accomplish so much.

It's amazing what you can get out of a team of workhorses! Many would sacrifice that 'one player' who scores a ton, to have 20 players who go balls out every shift. Forechecking, backchecking, blocking shots. Welland get's that every year. It's why they are so consistent. imho
