Those two post from Caledoniafan...pathetic....very credible new articles. Pretty sad when someone can put an article together like that, and dress down the kid. I guess the article writer forgot that Vuic may pursue hockey in the states after Jr.B, where that conviction could still hurt him. Not condoning his actions, but he's moving on.

He didn't have to plea guilty (with conditional sentence). He could have chose to fight the charge, and drag a trial through the court system and cost tax payers ridiculous amounts of money.

As I see it, he held himself accountable, and plead guilty. If he breaches terms in the next year, the deal is gone and conviction shows on his record.

Be sure when you're tossing those stones....you, or your team, or your owners, don't live in glass houses.
The kid made his own bed, period. Anyone charged with these offenses should be done with Junior hockey.

Everyone makes mistakes, they also pay for them. I know people who have been fired from work because of 'mistakes'. Why should this kid, or any kid get special treatment?

I really hope nobody you are close to is ever hit by a drunk driver, because I know you won't want the drunk to have a second chance!

The Falcons make me sick, as do those saying he deserves another chance. He made the choices, time to live with them, not reward them.

Do you feel this way solely about Junior hockey players or do NHL players get the same opinion from you? I'm interested to know your opinion on Craig MacTavish, Rob Rammage, Ryan O'Reilly, Riley Sheahan, and any of the others that play in the NHL who have been busted for drinking and driving.

Considering your signature has an emote smoking a joint, aren't you being a bit hypocritical?

Port what a sad, small and unforgiving world you must live in. Good people make bad mistakes. Why don't you take a look at some of these Tweets from people in Halifax after he was released? He played a whole year after being arrested there (by the way, don't see you bashing the Mooseheads for giving him a chance after it happened?). Sometimes the choices you make, what you do and the mistakes you learn from don't have to define who you are. The important thing from all of this is that Brandon doesn't make those decisions off the ice anymore - but it really has nothing to do with him as a hockey player.
Stuff like:
"Sorry about the cut. You may not have played my preferred style, but you were a good, likeable player and person. All the best."
"one of the finest young men I have gotten the pleasure to know. My heart aches. Moosehead games will not be the same for me. "

Here's some positive links below. And there were MANY more. These were just the best of the bunch.

Do I smoke joints and drive? No! So nope, I don't see how I'm being hypocritical. As for those you mentioned above, yeah feel the same way.

But this situation is even worse, imo. Here's a 20 year old who's looking for his place in this world. He just screwed up big time. So what is his punishment? Getting less than a slap on the wrist for being in possession of blow, getting his drunk driving hearing postponed until after the season, getting a shot to play competitive hockey for a top team.

That is unacceptable.

And if you're trying to say I smoke weed...So what? Does it lead to domestic violence? Does it kill people by shutting down their liver & pancreas?(like legal alcohol does) Does it lead to addicts robbing people for cash? No, it doesn't.

There's nothing wrong with toking or drinking. Drinking is legal & toking will be soon. My problem is getting behind the wheel & risking everyone else's life, then asking for another chance.

I know all about the pain caused by 'some guy/woman' deciding to drink & drive. So I guess that has a lot to do with my seeing red over this move made by the Falcons.

I'm not saying his friends shouldn't be there to support him. I'm saying his career should be done. I know a lot of great people who've made mistakes. But they've all had to live with them.

You're not suggesting that he isn't living with it too? I guarantee he feels guilt and regret over what happened and more than anything else RELIEF that his mistakes didn't have more dire consequences for someone else - the lucky part about all of this. To me, signing this player and giving him an opportunity doesn't show the Falcons condoning the use of illegal drugs or drinking and driving - because if you ask anyone in that organization I guarantee they'll have the same stance as you regarding how wrong it is...but it does show that they're willing to accept he has done wrong and give him a chance to turn his life around. You can disagree but most reasonable people would be willing to give someone a second chance - especially because he was lucky enough his actions didn't harm someone else

Well done Falcons, a player who's guilty of cocaine possession & who is awaiting charges for drunk driving.

What a message to send to kids all over the Garden City. Clap, clap, clap, clap. :smt023 :smt083
Well, the fact you said 'great story' and 'very well written' just confirms how much you lack in literary conscience. And explains your uneducated posts. But chirp away, it's all you've got in your repertoire.

The message you would have sent, is if you make a mistake...you shall never be forgiven. You shall never get a second chance. You shall hold your head low, in shame for the next 65 years of your life.

It's the balance of our justice system...something you know nothing of, but bitch about. You're the guy who wears a mask to cover his face, but screams for justice.

Slow and continued clap for the Falcons for forward thinking. Helping a young man who made a brutal mistake realize, life goes on when there's a fork in the road. :smt038 :smt041

So, just to be clear you perfect role model...it's ok to break the law by doing illegal drugs. As long as it's weed. Because it's the 'soft' drug. It's 'almost legal'. Now you show how pathetic you truly are.

Don't tell me for a moment, that drug use, marihuana or otherwise, can't lead to other crimes. Please don't tell me that. Because then you're just bleeding ignorance, and not another word you could possibly say will be considered legitimate. Smoke alllllllllll the weed you want in the world kids!!!!! Port Hockey says it's ok. It's illegal, but it's ok!!!! :smt021

I'm not the one who screwed up, he is! If you wan't to sidetrack and attempt to spin this around, and make it about me...

Thanks for proving my point. You've sidetracked from the topic at hand because you are grasping at straws. :smt004 :smt023

I didn't say I care who breaks the law. What I have a problem with is those who decide to put other peoples lives in danger. People who drink or get high then get behind the wheel.

I'm sure you follow every law to the letter. Me, I don't do anything that affects anyone else's life. I don't drink & drive, I don't toke and drive.

Again, you're grasping at straws. :smt075

But hey, I'll play your game. :smt024

Don't you tell me for a moment that legal alcohol can't lead to crimes. I've seen many alcoholics break the law to get their next drink. But I guess you can only label all marijuana smokers, because it's illegal. The alcohol related crimes must be ignored because it's legal...Nice reasoning.

Most parents(that are educated) would rather their teen smoked some weed over drinking. Alcohol can shutdown the pancreas & liver leading to death. I don't believe simply smoking marijuana has ever killed anyone.

So yes kids, when you turn 19, I'd recommend toking over drinking.

I know/have met, Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers, Teachers, cops, medics, etc who all smoke marijuana. They all look to have great careers too. Colorado & Washington are already moving in the right direction. Our Prime Minister has said he wants to legalize it.

Most people are calling on law enforcement to stop wasting tax dollars on a plant that's never left a death on record, ever. In case you haven't noticed, we have an epidemic of hard drug use all over Ontario. Your jaw would drop if you knew how many former players from this league are hooked on something hard now. We're wasting money fighting something that's literally harmless when inhaled through vape. Yet we have people drinking themselves to death legally.

Ask any cop who they'd rather deal with, the drunk or the weed smoker, the cop will pick the latter every time. Because people don't smoke weed and get abusive with their spouses and strangers. But when they're drunk...Hmm.

Anyways, I've made my feelings more than clear on this thread, about people who put others lives in their hands, and about how awful our courts are.

Most things being directed to me on here I've already addressed above. So I'll end this by saying, if you truly believe what you wrote about marijuana...I feel very sorry for you. :smt006

Hey guys, moving forward you would expect this young man to be on his best behavior! He hasn't shown that on the ice, he's very lucky to be serving only a two game suspension when he threw his stick into the crowd Sunday vs welland! I was one who applauded falcons for giving him a shot at playing more hockey, I haven't seen anything positive from his actions on the ice to suggest st catharines did the right thing.

I agree, I'm guessing they might be second guessing themselves. I've also noticed that neither local paper mentioned this players past.

Interesting question though: I understand he is not allowed to consume alcohol. So what happens if the Falcons win the cup?

Very lucky the refs did not see it
