LaSalle shocked Strathroy with a come form behind 5-4 OT win today. The Rockets led 3-0 after the first, and 4-2 after the second. LaSalle ended the game just 48 seconds into OT.
Don't count the Rockets out though, they have a very potent team and could very well take LaSalle to 7 games. Joey Seney is proving to be a big pickup for Strathroy.

Re: Strathroy pushed to brink of elimination
The fact is that we haven't played a full 60 minutes in these 3 games, but we deserved that win today and we got screwed! This series should be 2 1 and not 3 0, but it is what it is. My boys gotta go out there Tues and work their asses off, but play a good game and know that your fans are behind you!

Not one to complain about the reffing but the rockets definatley deserved a better fate, one disallowed goal that should of counted and the overtime winner scored by a apparent high stick, definatley had the Rockets brass very upset.

It would be nice to get video reviews. Every team(I think) tapes their games. Why not make it a official position? Have it wired to a laptop so the refs can review questionable goals?flyers2011 wrote:Not one to complain about the reffing but the rockets definatley deserved a better fate, one disallowed goal that should of counted and the overtime winner scored by a apparent high stick, definatley had the Rockets brass very upset.
I know there will be video of the OT goal on youtube. Strathroy has always taped their games.

A couple of Rocket disallowed goals in game 3. Vokes' high stick goal would made it 5-2 in the second, Dalton's net off goal came late in regulation with the game tied. They both look good to me.

There was some discussion on Korey Morgan's OT winner, but it looked good to me too.

Re: Strathroy pushed to brink of elimination
I am not one usually blaming officials as the calls most often have a way of evening out in a series. HOWEVER, both of those goals look legit from the video evidence. From the angles presented and judging the stick positioning from both Rocket players near the net, no stick ever appears to be remotely close to above the crossbar.
On the Dalton goal I believe Provost waved off the goal as a make-up call for the fact that he was too lazy on the play and put himself in TERRIBLE position in the first place and blocked the pass between the Lasalle D that created the turnover & scoring chance for Dalton. Puck clearly shot in before the net slightly comes off the mooring. At this level, for a playoff game with serious implications, those calls cannot be bungled so obviously. If the OHA had any integrity, those officials responsible should be finished for the season, period. And I have no horse in the race, just an unbiased observer.

Its obviously a high stick, even the kid looked back at the ref to see if he allowed the goal or waved it off, the reffing has been awful so far in the playoffs. Most of the time a player is looking for the puck, not at the puck & crossbar or puck & his waist. He was looking back to see if it was a good goal in all likely hood.LancerNation wrote:Its obviously a high stick, even the kid looked back at the ref to see if he allowed the goal or waved it off, the reffing has been awful so far in the playoffs.
