Guelph Dominators Sold !!
The Dom's have officially been sold. See attached write up from Guelph Tribune. Any guesses on who new owners are or what the new name will be?
It sounds like the Guelph Dominators have played their last game as the Guelph Dominators.
The local Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League team has been sold and a name change is likely on its way.
“I think the team name will change. It’ll still be the Guelph Junior B club but they probably will change the name, according to sponsors and stuff like that,” said Steve Teri, new operations manager of the club, on Wednesday afternoon.
The team was bought this week by three local businessmen and, asked for details about the new owners, Teri said the new owners would prefer to stay in the background.
Doms co-owners Ken Dool and Gurinder Saini agreed it was time to sell the team, Dool said.
Both are looking to expand their local businesses –Dool owns Robinson’s Flowers and Saini owns Domino’s Pizza – and, along with family time, Dool said the time commitment was just getting to be too much and it was a good time for someone else to take the reins.
Asked what he’ll remember most, Dool said: “Lots of good kids, lots of good people. We enjoyed it and had a lot of fun with it.”
The team didn’t make money, Dool said, but that wasn’t a factor in selling.
Teri said he and the owners have children playing hockey and that helped contribute to them to wanting the team.
A first order of business for the new crew is to hire a general manager and a head coach.

Queen of the GOJHL
Sometimes you just have to straighten your crown and remind them who they're dealing with.

Hey Tinyman, hope you didn't hurt yourself jumping off the Brantford bandwagon now that your mighty Canaries have lost both of their first 2 games in the RR.

Normally I would never care if there was a spelling error, but I thought it was funny that the error that was pointed out was made in the line above.
What is with all the bashing? The round robin is to decide who plays in a best of seven final. You only have to win two games to get through, and that could mean winning a sudden death playoff game.
I am just curious. Dating back to its inception, how many times has the team who finished first in the round robin won the Sutherland Cup?
