Team Canada - World Junior's

Post by RocketGirl »

Final roster cuts were made for Canada’s World Junior Hockey Team today (Dec. 14), with three local connections making the squad.

Scott Harrington of the London Knights, Strathroy’s Nathan Beaulieu and Dorchester’s Boone Jenner will all be heading west over the holidays to suit up for Team Canada.

Jenner, a 19-year-old forward for the Oshawa Generals, is one of 13 forwards to make the team: Brett Connolly, Freddie Hamilton, Quinton Howden, Devante Smith-Pelly, Mark Stone, Ryan Strome, Jonathan Huberdeau, Tanner Pearson, Brendan Gallagher, Mark Scheifele, Jaden Schwartz and Michael Bournival.

Joining the pair of defensive pair of Harrington and Beaulieu are Brandon Gormley of the Moncton Wildcats, Dougie Hamilton of the Niagara Ice Dogs, Ryan Murray of the Everett Silvertips, Jamie Oleksiak of the Sagniaw Sting and Mark Pysyk of the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Harrington, 18, has collected 16 points in 26 games this year for the Knights while Beaulieu, whose dad is former Knights coach Jacques, has 26 points in 30 games for the Saint John Sea Dogs.
