Prayers are with Guelph player

Post by royal51 »

Here is hoping there is no serious long lasting effects to Dominators defenceman Brett Green. Greener was cut through his neck guard by a Cullitons skate on an accidental play last night and suffered a deep gash on his neck. Rushed to Emergency in Guelph he was later transfered to Hamilton. Green's a tough kid and hopefully they are able to prevent any further damage. This certaining put a pall over the game as everyone in the stands showed concern. A parents worse nightmare to see your son(daughter) injured this way, especially since there has been other high profile accidents like this in the NHL and the players were fortunate enough to have highly trained medical staff on had. Here is Kudos to the Guelph training staff for recognizing the severity of the cut and acting quickly to stem the bleeding. My prayers are with Brett and his family.

No, Brett did not play yesterday. He is home now and recovering which is good to hear. Various reports on his return date is from 2-3 weeks to 4-6 depending on whether he requires more surgery to repair some nerve damage. Could have been much worse!! :smt038
