London Nationals/Leamington Flyers

Post by SugarKing »

3rd time in 4 years these 2 meeting the finals. This has gotta be the biggest rivalry in the conference by now.

Forwards: London
Defence: London
Goalie: Leamington

Should be good series, any predictions?

Who does everyone think will win each Conference and who's going to be the wild card this year?

I'm going with Niagara Falls, Listowel and London as Conference Champs and St Catharines with the wild card.

I just want to point out that Leamington has had more losses at home in the play-offs than they did in the regular season.

The fat lady ain't singing yet, she's just warming up, but I think the Flyers might be done. Are looking at getting swept on Wednesday.

Not sure who is going to win this series? Although, I am pretty certain that the best coached team "Niagara" will win the Sutherland Cup this year.

"....the best coached team "Niagara" ...."

There are 6 teams in 'Niagara'. I guess you mean Niagara Falls?

I'm just curious, what makes Niagara Falls the best coached team?

Having seen them play half a dozen times or so between this year and last. I could see his defensive systems as a 5 man
unit and their power play especially had a unique twist to it from most other GO teams I witnessed. 2 big elements of the game that take successful teams a long way.

The Falls' PP is certainly deadly clicking at 38%. London's is 22% despite having a slow start in the first 2 rounds. In the finals against the Flyers, the Nats were 7 for 17 (41.2%) and 6 for 10 (60%) in the last 3 games against a team that had the 3rd best penalty killing in the regular season. They missed another PPG last night by 3 seconds (the penalty to Andrews for high sticking at 15:53 of the first was not posted on Pointstreak.)
