It will be nice for all involved when the OHF hands down its decision on this appeal. I have a feeling they will back the OHA on this, but regardless of which direction it goes hopefully it is binding and final without the losing side deciding to appeal the OHF decision to Hockey Canada. Main camps start shortly, the players (the ones who this should be about) deserve to know what they are signing up for

I guess business owners shouldn't be able to make their own decisions...

The owners did make decisions but they are only franchisees in the OHA and their decisions have to be inline with the parent companys rules and regulations. It is now August and main camps are ready to open. Time for a final decision and move on. Put the squabble to rest and get on with the season.

Here's an idea. We take a page from Ronnie Reagan's playbook. Remember the air traffic controller mess? I say the OHA punts all the teams and makes them re-apply. Not all will get back in unless they agree to follow the rules of the governing body.

The time for all this to have been resolved is well past due. As there has been no formal communication by the league or OHA to prospective players, the expectation should be business as usual (25 team GOJHL). If there is any other outcome, the credibility of all involved (HC, OHF, OHA, GOJHL, owners, GOJHL Inc) will be negatively impacted by self inflicted actions or inaction.

The players that want to play OHA Jr. B hockey don't have a voice, but ultimately will be impacted by any residual negative consequences of this dispute. Main camps do start soon, but teams and players have been in the evaluation and planning process for at least the past three months.

Elmira also announced some significant player signings. It is a good sign to see that some teams plan to move forward regardless of the political issues. These announcements are encouraging.
