Penalty-Free Games

Post by RecKing »

According to the GOJHL Record Book there has only been one other penalty-free contest since 2008 and a total of three previously in the West Conference:

GOJHL Penalty‑Free Games: Chatham Maroons vs Leamington Flyers Feb. 18, 2010; Strathroy Rockets vs Sarnia Legionnaires Oct. 15, 2015

West Conference Penalty‑Free Games: Sarnia Blast vs St. Thomas Stars Nov. 30, 2003; London Nationals vs Leamington Flyers Feb. 3, 1994; Chatham Maroons vs Leamington Flyers Feb. 18, 2010; Strathroy Rockets vs Sarnia Legionnaires Oct. 15, 2015

Completely the opposite tonight in the LaSalle at Leamington game. It was nearly a non-stop parade to the sin bin. There were probably more actual penalties than those which were called and there were definitely some which were borderline or non-existent. Some flagrant stuff got let go as well. Too bad - it could have been a much better contest.

Kudos to the Rockets and Legionnaires for just going out and playing good hockey.
