Re: Changes in Sarnia
As noted at the beginning of the post "I don't disagree Port, and St Thomas did work hard for their 4 wins". That would also include this game as it is one of the 4 that St Thomas won. And now for the real point of the posting " Did it affect the outcome of the series as a whole? Ther...

Re: Changes in Sarnia
I don't disagree Port, and St Thomas did work hard for their 4 wins. Sarnia lost twice at home. Sarnia dug themselves a hole losing the first 2 games and appeared to be digging their way out in game 3. Had Sarnia won game 4 the series is tied, but losing heavily relied upon players for a questionabl...

Re: Changes in Sarnia
This in response to the person that stated St Thomas just wanted those games more.Ok let me clue you what happened.St Thomas wins first 2 games then Sarnia wins the third and things seem to be going their way,so the fourth game Sarnia gets 2 players for warmup violation.Sarnias best D and top point...

I would think there are also a few reasons why he has coached as long as he has. If he wants to coach he would still be an upgrade to a few teamsflyers2011 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 1:25 am hmmmmm just think about how many teams Mark Davis has been with, has to be a reason why he keeps moving.

Re: Strathroy Rockets
The Gemini Arena is not designed for spectators, the seating is all on one side and not close to the ice surface. It is like being on a practice pad. The ice is bigger than WMMC but that is where any advantage ends. I agree they do have better talent than the past couple of seasons and probably shou...

Re: Is it working in Komoka?
There is a 3 way battle for the basement, so I would say the move has not made a difference from that standpoint. Attendance is up from what it was in Forest they have better access to players through both the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs and London Jr Knights grads that don't find a home with the Nationa...

Re: Strathroy Rockets
4 games is the minimum for a match penalty so I would think Stevens reputataion was not considered at all. The hit is around the 2:32 mark on the HockeyTV game video, so with approximately 6 minutes left in the 3rd period. He clearly made a late blindside hit well behind the play on an unsuspecting ...

Undisciplined penalties aren't helping either, especially when they result in suspensions.

Match Penalty
A Strathroy' player has been suspended for 4 games presumably for the attempt to injure that he was given at the end of the game. Was there actually an incident at the end of the game or was this something the league picked up on when reviewing the game tape? The player in question was given an offs...

Now it is up to the coaching staff to get the boys motivated and put this drubbing behind them. Whether or not it is 10, 14 or 20-0, it is one game out of 50 or so. The real issue would be if you were consistently getting your behinds handed to you! I am sure they will bounce back...and I will bet ...

Re: Fighting, Facemasks and GRM62
More often it is assessed when the player rips his opponents helmet off, generally by gripping the cage as a handle. More interestingly will be how often a high stick or a high hit will be a non call as has been the case some jr c games last season with the yeck division.

Re: London Strong Again
5 forwards on a power play is generally a good way to give up short handed goals. Wonder if he has considered using 4 defencemen on the penalty kill as well?

Getting corporate sponsors in the community takes work and can be time consuming as well. Might just be easier to get players that will purchase a roster spot instead, just like beer league

Re: Ancaster now pay-to-play...
Sounds like the owner wants to buy a new boat and get a membership at the yacht club with OJHL owners. My understanding is that Ancaster is now charging its players the maximum allowed by the league. I would think the more interesting question will be how many higher end players will choose to play ...

Obviously someone has been running their summer skates and this weekends camp. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the kids that they signed recently know who is coaching and that's probably all that matters since they signed there ..... not all you armchair nhl gm's. Sounds like "unhap...

Re: New Rockets Coach
Why does Strathroy not have a coach named yet? If Mr Bondy just plans to fill the role himself one would assume he would have stepped up to the plate by now. It should be easier to recruit players with a named coach, thereby making his GM job much easier.

Junoir League Rankings
The GOJHL is ranked #10 among all Junior leagues in North America for player development. Interestingly the USHL is #1 ahead of the #2 ranked OHL. At #10 the GOJHL in Ontario alone is ranked #2 behind the OHL surpassing the OJHL (11) CCHL (12) and the NOJHL (15). These rankings are only a reflection...

There are 2 "fees" for GOJHL players. The OHA will be collecting approximately $396 compliments of this years increase. The GOJHL players each pay an additional $750 to the league itself.

GOJHL Showcase 2017
Same weekend, new location. This year the showcase is in Brantford at the Gretzky Complex. The parking issues of the last couple of years should be alleviated, but the showcase is still being held before many team rosters are finalized. Much of the high end talent will be away with their OHL teams a...

Unfortunately the OJHL site seems to be the only league under the OHA umbrella that is being maintained. There has been several moves both behind the bench and on the ice in the PJHL and GOJHL that have gone by unnoticed. If you check the OJHL site you can see a few player moves involving PJHL playe...

Why the grudge against the Kings owner? He may have had a legit reason to sell assets. It isn't really a secret that the fan support was not there in Forest.
