Re: Games Wed. Jan. 7
Roads are fine around here, main roads are clear except where wind has blown the snow off the fields. The game will definitely be a go.

Re: Flyers Addition
Rumor on the other board is that it's Ryan Shipley . Signed after the game against Sarnia on Sunday. With the revolving door of injuries, suspensions and other commitments on the back end, he should fit right in. Hopefully he can keep his head on his shoulders and not spend so much time in the box ...

Flyers Addition
I've heard that the Flyers have added a player with OHL experience. Don't know if it is posted anywhere yet. Could be interesting.

Re: Justin Tugwell
I don't even care what teams are involved, it's not a play where the goalie needs to be coming out of the net. I'm not trying to spin it any way. The video on the news clearly shows about a second or two between the time the puck gets past the defenders and the collision. If the website has a differ...

Re: Justin Tugwell
Qwerty, thanks for the update and it's great news he's o.k. I'm also glad you seem to agree that to say "the 2 collided" is bull. The player ran the goalie, plain and simple. How no penalty was called is beyond me. I never understand this logic, the puck is in the face-off circle, Quick i...

Re: Justin Tugwell
You never want to see someone get hurt especially on such an innocent play. I remember a similar play in Leamington a few years ago where Matheson was chasing after the puck and the goalie came out to beat him to it and dropped down sending Matheson head over heals... Matheson got a two minute penal...

Re: GOJHL All-Star and Prospects Games
Interesting line ups. Would of liked to see a player from St Thomas on the actual All-Star roster instead of reserves just so all teams were represented, but other than that, should make for a good team. I might head over to check it out as I'll be in the area for Christmas. I also was wondering whi...

Re: Maroons with another move
Even if Patterson did ask to go home early for the holidays, he'd only miss two games, so it's not like it'd be a big deal. In my mind anyway. Odds are he'd only play one of them also.

Re: Flyers comeback against Maroons
It was a good game all around. As mentioned neither goalie played their best, Bessette seemed to really have issues squeezing the puck, always seemed to trickle through him. As brad 36 mention, the refs were at their normal best in both directions. From a fan perspective the game had everything you'...

I've noticed that on a few other boards hosted by the same people. Not sure if it is just coincidence or an update wiped out threads on their server.

Flyers Add Campbell
Travis Campbell (17) has returned home from the Soo and has joined the Flyers. He is a big body which is a welcome addition up front but I don't see him playing any more than a 3rd line spot at the moment. With Amante out he might get the chance to play on a top line this week to get in Piroski's go...

Re: John Warren ends up in London
Warren has been picked up by London. He's playing tonight with a couple of other new players. Leamington has added two players as well. Must be awkward for Warren considering what happened last time he was in Leamington. Glad he landed somewhere though, good luck to Thompson. Both guys for Leamingt...

Amante Suspension
12/03/14 DEL Amante, Mitchell (F) placed on league suspension for minimum 4 games
Does this league ever suspend anyone for "a minimum of 4 games"? Must of been one hell of a missed call if it is not for the bench infraction.

Good thing he has further picked up his game cause I doubt Warren will be playing another game for St. Thomas, nor will he end up where he wants to be, so it's nice to see St Thomas moving on and the rest of the team playing better without him.

Any action from the bench is automatically a 5 minute major for interference from the bench. I've also heard that Leamington is expecting Amante to be suspended after a review of the play by the OHA.Port hockey1 wrote:Question, how does one get a 5 minute major for interference?

Re: Amante/Sablone
The very odd thing here is that Perkowski was the only Flyer who received a fighting major so how can he be 2nd fight same stoppage of play? I would imagine because Sablone was trying to go after Amante I assume, and got a fighting major, the Perkowski/D. Langlois fight would be considered the 2nd....

I don't think they'd bring someone in for 36 days. But it's prime transaction time, so you'd think they'd name someone interim until then.

Even still, I would hope that he would be dealt with in the same manner as the others. He has just as much responsibility as the other coaches to maintain and ensure the team is in line.Marcie wrote:Maybe he was the one that blew the whistle on them to the OHA. Someone had to.

Re: Thoughts on Chatham
I hope he doesn,t take a lot of time getting rid of the rust because ideally the goaltenders should be able to share the load and push each other. The last thing a team needs at playoff time is a burnt out goalie. For myself anyway Welcome to Chatham Jake. This is definitely ideal. Leamington has s...

Backup...I just choked on my coffee. His junior numbers are from before he established himself in the OHL. Since then he has played on one of the top teams on Canada. He's been recently mentored by Stolarz & Bailie. He's played against the best players in Canada at the Memorial Cup. I don't mea...

A fair question, but why still be competing for the same championship? Just wondering why we'd be playing for the suthie but excluded from the All-Star festivities. In years past the Shoe has played the West in the All-Star game, back before we became one league. They compete for the Sutherland Cup...

Re: Game pics from Nov. 5 - Leamington @ LaSalle
LaSalle really didn't look interested. In the 3 games against Leamington Billings has kept LaSalle in the game, the 2 games he played. PB just doesn't seem to care, nor do I feel he should be their #1 regardless of the season he had last year. Leamington hit 2/3 posts, had a goal called back and mis...

Re: Checking from behind Game misconduct
I would say from what I have seen, it is a lot of refs playing it safe. Some are definite calls, but I've seen some trips called checking from behind because the ref was out of position and didn't see what happened, just the noise of the guy running into the boards. It happens, its a tough job. I do...

Re: Flyers tie Sarnia for First Place after 7-2 win
Looks like the Flyers might lose a top forward. Henderson was called up to London and picked up a goal & assist in their 7-2 win over Sudbury today. I don't know if they plan on sending him back down or not. All depends on what kind of card he was signed on before the season began. If they put ...
