Re: Sutherland Cup Format

In the regular season you would play mostly your division with a few games against the other division in your conference. Hopefully it somewhat limits the travelling. I think it would be better for the league.

Re: Sutherland Cup Format

I think by doing this it adds travel to some teams but limits its for others. In the niagra division it would be 10 mins for everybody and nobody would have to drive a hour to Cali or Ancaster. In the other divisions the travel is really limited to 1 hour and a half. Even switch Brampton with Elmira...

Re: Sutherland Cup Format

I was also thinking about what port said. Having 2 conferences and 4 divisions. 3 divisions with 7 one with 6. Top 4 teams in each play down like in the NHL. Ideas for divisions would be something along the lines of: Niagra division: St kitts Thorold Pelham Fort Erie Niagra Falls Well and Buffalo (i...

Re: 20 Year Olds Restrictions

Same thing with Sinclair. Why would u trade him away. He's an amazing goalie who still is eligible next year. Also don't know why you would trade shaef. He is still young and is very good. The team would still be solid with the new rule. My guesses for the 9 would be: Pawley Fitzmorris Luscombe Hore...

Hockeytalk21 I asked him last night. He told me he didn't think he would be ready for awhile. Didn't think awhile meant overnight. If that's the same definition for u then call it irrelevant.

Yea it was great. Austin must have felt really well this morning compared to when I talked to him last night. Hope he stays healthy. Both teams were really tired today. Neither team played their best hockey. Cali dominated the play though

Re: Caledonia(1) vs Waterloo(4), Sutherland Cup Semifinals Playoff Thread, & Predictions

I also believe that bianchi should he Put back on D. Punkari is more valuable at forward. But idk who to take out him or graham. Anybody else think that zottl should be sat. All playoffs he's been trying his best to let us lose a damn game. Absolutely awful giveaways and then takes a penalty to get ...

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)

Go west maybe you should watch the games. If this ruins it for you guys then you might want to stop watching the league because you obviously don't have the passion. Did you watch the games when niagra falls and Fort Erie beat us. They were the happiest people on the world. It makes kid works harder

Re: Breaking the rules set by the OHA(In Response to 'Stats Primer')

Qwerty I I absolutely respect your opinion. But the way you argue about it makes it sound like 20 year olds are terrible. So what's your opinion on ending some of these kids careers a year early? Don't say CIS because not that many that I've talked to want to do that. I don't mind the new rule but, ...

Three dog night. Maybe you should start worrying about what's on the ice and not in the stands. Maybe that will help your team get closer to winning

But during a break in hockey in Sweden he met fitzmorris in a bar one night. They used to play together before jr hockey. The...

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)

They aren't ruining it for other people In my mind. Obviously you haven't see most of the teams play us. It makes other teams strive and play as hard as they can to beat us. I think it develops more talent at a higher rate. But now what are these 20 year olds going to do that any get a roster spot? ...

And look at a team like Kitchener. They pick up players from the O all the time. Hell their goalie was going back and forth every weekend. Why doesn't ever criticize them. Is it because they didn't win?

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)

Baumann left the O because they wanted him to play forward and he didn't want to play forward. For the last 1 or 2 years they forced him to play it. That's why he switched to jr b. If you pay attention they have no other choice where to go. I don't see one player on a team that wanted to come down f...

Again cot obvious your missing the point. I there getting their money for something else. It's basically for playing but nobody can prove it. It is all in cash not a cheque so maybe you should ask them again bud. Yea that's nice the GM took them on a cruise. Well the Cali GM took the team to Jamaica...

You do realize what I said right. "Their smart about it". You can never say they pay their players to play. That's the key thing. Their is ways to get around paying them to play. I might off not of been clear on that. I won't go into details about it though

Re: Caledonia(1) vs Waterloo(4), Sutherland Cup Semifinals Playoff Thread, & Predictions

Pretty impressive game tonight from waterloo. They played hard and never gave up. But they just couldn't keep up near the end of the second and third. Cali played pretty bad tonight. Slow skating, no effort. But the power play was deadly for Cali tonight. Waterloo is gonna have to learn quickly that...

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)

That's never been done before qwerty. I never said that you were wrong with the points you made, but your missing pretty substantial talent that they did develop. People always focus on the negatives. You can never win when your in first. I've only been following the league for 4 years now. But your...

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)

Somewhat correct qwerty. A lot of these players have played in this league before and have been so called developed. Look at some of the corvairs players who have been on the team for years. Ratchford- likely the best defence in the league. Amazing puck mover who would be on the top line for any tea...

Re: Stratford(2) vs London(3), Sutherland Cup Semifinal Playoff Thread, & Predictions

Cpt obvious they are not paying the players to play. That is true. Coming from somebody who knows how they recruit. They are very smart about it. The other reason some players come is the rewards they do get. Kenny is an amazing owner who cares about these players. He takes them out to great places ...
