Re: Stanley Cup Finals
I watched parts of it inbetween checking the score of last night's JR B lacrosse game in Windsor now that the league uses PS. Glad to see the Pens get the win, still hoping they can take the cup but those pesky Red Wings have a habit of playing well. {shrugs} Didn't see the intermission so didn't kn...

Re: not about hockey at all
Hello, I am an occassional reader of this forum for a time now, and have never really felt like posting until now. This topic of Victoria Stafford hits very close to home for me. My wife was the classroom teacher of Victoria, and she has been going through a tough time since this occurred. She was ...

Memorial Cup
Caught part of a couple of games Windsor played and most of the final for the cup.
Congrats to them. Interesting to see jersey #18 with them for the team photo - in honour of former Spits captain Mickey Renaud.

One article about it is at http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/Articl ... ?e=1580806
Doesn't sound too good for them.
Without them that would make the Midwest a conference of just 8 teams just like the GH.

Bluewater Sharks major midget hockey tournament
was held in Sarnia this past weekend. Of note were the two teams who had players that saw each other in the GOJHL - players from the Sarnia Legionnaires and the Strathroy Rockets.

WOW, very impressive. I think those types of volunteers are gems and if you have someone like that in your organization who will do all that for you, hang on to them. Multi-tasking during a game can be a bit crazy at times in hockey. I know of someone who did a number of things but it was in lacross...

Re: Sutherland Cup
Game 4 is looking interesting. SC got the early lead and then Brantford scores 4 in the second and 1 early in the third to lead 5-1 with the period half over. I'm guessing the Brantford fans are a group of happy campers at this point with such a lead. A comeback by SC could happen I suppose - strang...

Re: Sutherland Cup
So do the Warriors take a 3 game lead or will Brantford find a way to get a win and make it into more of a series? Your all caught up in too many forums and " off hockey topics " after the Stoney Creek OT win the series is now 2-1 for Brantford OK, my mistake, I had it reversed. However y...

Re: Sutherland Cup
It's 9:40 pm on Tuesday and the teams are going to OT. Creek jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes, then surrendered three goals in the second. Eagles gave up a late goal to SC who pulled their goalie for the extra attacker. Looks like the referees are allowing the players to play, very few pena...

Is anyone following this or watching any of the games? Great to see some of the guys whose teams have been eliminated from the playoffs get their hockey playing season extended. Any comments? Opinions on how Canada might do? Will we get gold this time - apparently silver didn't go down too well with...

hahah, gotta laugh at Torts of New York. With discussion we've had about the behavior of some of the coaches at Jr B level and how immature some of them have been - he shows us how to take it to another level.

Re: CONGRATULATIONS
I understand your sentiments about adding additional forums to the board and its a valid one. Thought to try it out for a bit especially since hockey is winding down but some may want to discuss things that aren't hockey related. If there appears to be little interest for any of the forums (or their...

Re: Sutherland Cup
That sounds like a long list of excuses, the bottom line is we had a chance to move on by winning and couldn't get it done. Blaming others for that is kind of pointless as we wouldn't have been in a position to need help if we would have just won the game ourselves. MG, my list wasn't excuses or bl...

Who was missing from the Warriors lineup. The only guy sitting was #11. Eagles were missing #8. SC played their backup tender and sat what most would concede is the best playoff goaltender (leads with lowest GAA and highest save %). If he was playing, it would more likely have been an SC win is wha...

I don't see why there would be a problem moving the Friday game to Saturday and playing back to back Sat/Sun rather than a Thur/Fri. What would be the big deal of moving the Fri game to Sat instead? Unless it's a problem booking transportation? I too would have thought they would ensure arena dates ...

Re: divison finals
Noticing that this series ends on a Monday. Isn't that a bit late? Does anyone know the supposed "cut-off" date for when this round is supposed to finish up?
Seem to recall having a discussion last season about how one league (now conference) finished late.

I apologize for this not having anything to do with attendance but that should be a dead horse by now anyway. Good for the Dominators taking stratford 4 2 tonite. It was a fast game all three periods and again the Doms showed how well they can work together when they want to. Good luck in kitchener...

Sorry, old age, didn't realize capital letters meant I was yelling! :smt024 What I meant was this thread has gone on for over 2 weeks, we all know if any attendance over a buck and a half at the Ice Palace means they had Gremlins. Have a nice day! :smt008 Nothing wrong with being a bit older - some...
