Re: First round playoff predictions
Welland looked pretty good in the first 40 minutes of game 1 and most of game 2 but unfortunately on the wrong end of both. I think they needed to win one of those first two to have a shot at winning more then 1. Ancaster showed they can go in front and just play shut down rest of way.

Re: Playoff Scheduling
Like Hackey said the GMS are ones who create the schedules league only says when it can start and end. First round can start Feb 27 like Caledonia did and has to be done by March 12.

Should not be that difficult to do. There is no reason why the GHC teams cannot play Brampton, Brantford, Kitchener, Guelph.

Re: Admission prices
Are admission prices for the GOJHL supposed to be standardized by the league? In the Western Conference every team charged $10 for adults in the regular season with the exception of St Thomas which charged $12. There is no standard price as every team can do what they want but there is a maximum am...

GOJHLfan1, you make some valid points but not are valid. You sum it up perfectly by saying " getting players that want to go there. There;s a reason why players don't want to go there. Players like playing for teams that demonstrate the want for continuous improvement. Continuously ending up i...

Re: Trade
Falcons have added a little bit of everything. Size, skill, depth and sandpaper. A few weeks ago they added a real strong backup goalie, not that needed one as they currently have probably the best goalie in the GOJHL. Apparently they want to take a serious run in this their 50th year of operating....

I think the division is a lot more open this year then in previous seasons. Sure the standings do not show it but any team can win on any night more so then in previous seasons.

Re: Stars to rename arena...
I know it's not what you meant but I do not think its the Stars changing the name it would be the city of St. Thomas. I am a fan of the name change though. Especially seeing how Timken closed its doors in the city 4 years ago.

Re: McCabe
First off, McCabe is not a goon who thinks brutality. The guy rarely fights anybody. He is nothing but a big-mouth trash talker who "tries" to take opposition players off their game. Most of his penalty minutes are for misconducts and head contact penalties. For the most part he's nothing ...

Re: Game Suspensions
Just think if he does get suspending for the season he could go catch on with the GMHL. I bet they wouldn't hold the OHA suspension against him. Just checked and it looks like the London Lakers have his GMHL rights... hahaha... I think the other 8 Golden Horseshoe teams would be jumping for joy if ...

Re: Chatham
How is it that Chatham has had 2 assists on every goal the past 12 games. It seems like every goal where there is a point available they add it after the game whether it's accurate or not. Kind of strange. Phantoms win you the scoring title. Nothing new. Happens every year with most teams. Nobody t...

Re: St. Catherines
Welland has turned into the old Fort Erie. A great organization that develops young talent... But they don't seem to care about winning games. It's time for a coaching change in Welland for sure. Ozzy is a great guy and a great coach but 8 years or whatever it is, is long enough. He's lost the guys...

Re: St. Catherines
"Development" is what St Catherines did. They started there back up Eberhardt. He's a 17 year old. They have a slow couple of weeks coming up so they gave him some playing time. Which is great no big deal losing to Pelham. It's all about the playoffs any ways. Pelham plays St Catharines h...

Re: Match Penalty
A Strathroy' player has been suspended for 4 games presumably for the attempt to injure that he was given at the end of the game. Was there actually an incident at the end of the game or was this something the league picked up on when reviewing the game tape? The player in question was given an off...

Re: replay
Video replay wouldn't be impossible. I am not sure if they would overturn a game result the day after even if they were able to review and see it was kicked in. All they really have to do is institute a minimum level of video coverage that is acceptable. The quality I've seen out of some teams (SD,...
