Nats quietly going about their business of finishing Vipers in 5 after a close 3-2 victory in game 4. Meanwhile Marrons and Flyers prepare to pound one another in what may well be a 7 game series.

Re: London(2) vs LaSalle(3), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
London snatched defeat from the jaws of victory tonight. Poo happens. They'll bounce back tomorrow. Very evenly matched teams from what I've seen. Hardly any penalties.

Re: St Marys Lincolns Post Mortem
Only hope for the Lincs and Preds is finding the money it will take to pay out of town talent to stay. At minimum gas and more realistically gas plus a few other perks. They've got some good local kids but not enough to compete without imports. These are small communities and the success of the team...

Re: Leamington(1) vs Chatham(4), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
Big win for the Maroons to steal first one in Leamington. No surprise to see Ford come through as the man for Chatham. Good leaders lead in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Maroons seemed to get under Amante's skin; 16 mins in the bin. Ouch, not good for your top point-getter. I imagine Pirowski will try to...

Re: Limit 20 years old
Port, I couldn't agree with you more...Brothers is a great example of the kind of 20-yr-old who the GO should want to attract and develop. Kyle played GO his entire Jr career, except for an initial stint in Alvinston. The boy developed all the way through and made the jump to NCAA when he landed a s...

Re: Limit 20 years old
Bingo. ILuvHackey nailed it. I hope the league is listening to this kind of logic when the try to sort out the 20yrold rules tomorrow. Cap the number of CHL vets who can play, especially the 20yrold variety, or ban them all together.

Re: Caledonia(1) vs Niagara Falls(4), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
Was the reffing really that bad? Is there anyone who's not a Corvairs fan who will vouch for that? I get soooo tired of the conspiracy theories about refs trying to dictate game outcomes. Just don't buy it. Regardless of the PIMs, clearly Caledonia was in the driver's seat. Looking forward to see if...

Great game tonight. Decided advantage to Nats, despite having to battle through a lot of penalties. Goaltending a key difference. Hughes put up a wall.

Re: Limit 20 years old
I Luv Hackey and Been There get it. Caledonia Fan, well, we get you, too, my friend. Your forum name says it all. Make no mistake. The writing is on the wall. The days are numbered for stacking Jr B teams with 20yrold CHL overagers. The GO needs to become more of what it was intended to be -- a deve...

Re: Too much or just too good
So, Port, are you suggesting that Caledonia is offering their CHL veteran players scholarships? To NCAA teams, or to CIS teams? I'm confused by your speculation because I thought that as soon as a player plays a single game in the CHL, they become ineligible to play NCAA hockey. And as CHL graduates...

Re: Limit 20 years old
Mr. Rizetto, well done if you're proposing ideas to improve league parity. You should be applauded for that given the lack of parity in the Shoe especially, but also to some lesser extent in the other two divisions. 20yrolds are far from being the only issue preventing parity in the league. I get th...

Re: 2nd Round Playoff Predictions
Thanks Flyers. Pretty sure, though, that the Vipers rink is still bigger than Sarnia (Brock Street), Chatham and Strathroy, yes? Leamington and London are the boys most adept to playing pond hockey on their big ice surfaces, but I've always thought LaSalle has a strong skating club that can hold its...

Re: 2nd Round Playoff Predictions
Both series are difficult to predict, which like everyone has noted means there should be some entertaining hockey ahead. Give the edge to Leamington over Chatham. Don't think either of these teams is as strong this year as they were last year, but still very good opponents. The difference in rink s...

Surprised by the goaltending stats in this game for Lasalle. Battisti rusty after his suspension with 4 GA on nine shots. Great to see Sarnia making this one a coin-toss.

Shots 52-28 in favour of Chatham. This was the game Dampier was capable of stealing. Doing it again in Chatham will be a tall order to fill.

Re: #2 London vs #7 Strathroy playoff thread
Rockets played a great game facing elimination. Their home rink is well suited to their high-energy, physical style. If Nats don't end it tonight, they will be in real trouble. Winning the 4th is never easy and Strathroy's got some swagger now.

Re: #2 London vs #7 Strathroy playoff thread
Game 2 looks like it was an exciting back and forth game. Good for Strathroy to keep it close and Nats to battle back after falling behind 3-1. Rockets won't be able rebound on the big ice at the Fair. Game 4 may be a penalty fest when Rockets see the writing on the wall, but Nats will end this in 4.

Big come from behind win by Sarnia in a penalty fest in game 2. Welcome to the playoffs. Home ice will work to LaSalle's advantage here, but looks like they are going to need to grind for the rest of the series.

Re: #2 London vs #7 Strathroy playoff thread
Rockets may be capable of a surprise win on Saturday to get back in it on their smaller home ice. Otherwise, this series is done in 4, despite what the crack-smoking GOFAN999 may predict. Strathroy's physical play is they only place they outshine London but their biggest problem, as Ogie points out,...

Re: #3 LaSalle vs #6 Sarnia playoff thread
Agree with Ogie... Lasalle looking very strong with great momentum. When Battisti gets back, they'll be that much more confident with two very capable net-minders. May be some tough decisions ahead for the coaches on who to start, though each has played almost equal time through the season. Nice pro...

Re: Caledonia Corvairs work to do
Heard from a reliable source that there is a bonafide conspiracy afoot within the GO where officials are promised one dozen Timbits and a large double-double following any game in which they call bad penalties only against the top teams, but especially Leamington, and to really pick on them by never...
