Re: KABOOOOOOM!!!!
Hopefully the KABOOOOOOM...which in my eyes was long, long, long overdue, will enable this league to take the necessary steps to get back to where this league once was (as three independent leagues)...a place where kids wanted to play to get to where they desired to play! It won't be difficult but d...

Exhibition Games or no Exhibition Games...the season is done! This league and it's leadership would be better served to start focusing on next season and what protocols can be put in place to have an effective start. This league just makes decisions piggybacking on the OJHL. Envious much? Said it b...

Re: Starting Date
This leadership group reminds one of a verse in the Peter, Paul and Mary song Where Have All the Flowers Gone...."Oh, when will they ever learn...Oh, when will they ever learn!" This board needs to go!! MT needs to step aside or be thrown out the door and some egos need to be bruised along...

1 step forward... 3 steps back!
Be prepared... HC has this as a two year project. They WILL not be stepping on the ice in regular format until there is a vaccine... That could take anywhere from 2-4 years

Re: OJHL Expansion/ What GOJHL teams will apply for Jr. A status?
Who cares who they have picked! According to the asinine agreement the GO signed a few years back...the OJHL just cannot arbitrarily walz into GO territory...unless you have leadership that really cannot see beyond their own image in the mirror! Oh..I forgot what we were talking about...LOL The OJHL...

Re: OJHL Expansion/ What GOJHL teams will apply for Jr. A status?
Change in governance...I would seek governance elsewhere. There is a league in the USA called the NCDC which had applied to USA Hockey for Tier2 status...they were denied as the USAH only recognized the NAHL as Tier2...sound familiar?? They continue to push many, many kids to the NCAA ranks DESPITE ...

Re: OJHL Expansion/ What GOJHL teams will apply for Jr. A status?
I wouldnt want to join the OJ. They are a mess. Despite the fact that they want to talk about successes...Development League...what a joke...this league was in a mess for years. Contraction saved this league from being a further embarrassment than they already are!! Man I wish they would bring back ...

Geeeeez...can't say I never saw this coming with Junior Bettman!! The teams need to remove the GOJHL board now!! They are incapable of making tough decisions....and only seem capable of making clueless ones!!

Re: Prediction On a Season Start Date
The league has no plan. Nobody has a plan unless directed by the OHF. Therein lies the problem...member partner weekly board meetings about nothing but Covid...and they cannot make a decision because it rests with the government. No such thing as false hope. People just want to know something...anyt...

Re: GOJHL 2020/2021 Season discussion
Maybe a full plan has yet to be put in place. Why does everyone NEED to know EVERYTHING the league is thinking? I think you are missing the point. These are not the times where kids are playing in this league for free. So as a parent, I would want to know what is going on so a decision can be made....

Re: GOJHL 2020/2021 Season discussion

And there you have it! They will not take a chance...and in true HC fashion would rather pass the issue off to the branches and "member partners" in this province rather than get in too deep with it.

Re: Prediction On a Season Start Date
FYI...HC insurance will not cover the Covid-19 crisis. They cannot step on the ice without proper insurance. And I cannot think of one insurer who would be willing to take that risk. Sorry to be the devil's advocate...but these are just the facts.

Re: Prediction On a Season Start Date
They can announce it all they want. But in doing that, and if they don't step on the ice when they say they are...there will be alot of pissed off parents looking to lay a claim. Ice is controlled by municipal governments which takes its direction from the province. Can they go to private ice....abs...

Re: Prediction On a Season Start Date
The first challenge is that not all GOJHL areas are in Stage 3. Niagara, Hamilton, Windsor/Essex and Sarnia/Lambton are still in Stage 2. They will get there eventually. We also have a team in the USA to deal with. The key words in the Stage 3 announcement were "No prolonged or deliberate cont...

That is the million dollar question! Who are the good owners? But there are also some really good community owned teams that should be included. Re: Somethings Cooking
That can be offset with the right plan in place! A plan to be classified as Jr A? Sure. Otherwise, GOJ is at the mercy of other leagues being able to take their players pretty damn easy. Not necessarily....but the league must want to take the steps necessary to get back to where it once was. Sure t...

Re: Somethings Cooking
Not sure if anything is cooking but there should be. I honestly dont get it. It really baffles my mind at the direction.... Wait, what I mean to say is this league has no direction or visión. Part of the problem is you cant be a "yes" man and get things accomplished. Add to that... You nee...

3 points for a regulation win.... 2 points for an OT win.... 1 pt for an OT loss... 0 pts for a regulation loss I remember for the Silver Stick...we started overtime with 5 and then every minute went down 1 player. We won with two of us out there against two of theirs. Regulation wins should always ...

I inquired about doing a mock site for the league with HockeyTech almost 3 years ago....nothing to do with the league but would have showed them what could be achieved! This website is still terrible!! But hey, I guess that is what three years and a FT web guy will buy you!

BTDT... I have no idea on the goings on in the GO. All I can tell you is what I dont see.. And that is progress. Look, the GO have made a few blunders over the last 18 months least of which was approving an OJHL team within their geographical footprint. That was a REAL head-scratcher. It made me thi...

Re: Will the GOJHL look different next Season?
That is September at the earliest. And remember, the facilities are controlled by the municipalities so any decision that is made would need full municipal, provincial and federal approval as Hockey Canada is a NGB and receives funding from the Ministry of Heritage and Sport. They will not be able t...

Kitchener 1956
You could take the entire OJHL team lineup and it probably wouldnt amount to the same number of years that these two storied franchises have! That is history...that is legacy
