Re: Sutherland Cup Format
I know some owners would not like that added expense of travel. But at some point the league must move forward and leave the weak behind that can't keep up. There is Jr C that would suit some teams better, where travel would be reduced. Don't let these owners hold the rest from moving forward!

Re: Sutherland Cup Format
I would like to see the GOJHL have two divisions A and B. The top 14 teams in the A and bottom 13 in the B. The bottom 2 teams in the A division at the end of the reg season drop down to B division the next year and top two teams after the playoffs in B move up. Each division would have top 8 make p...

Wow Rocketgirl, Queen of GOJHL.
Is this not junior hockey? You make it sound like novice house league. What next, a vote not to keep score?
Is your next rant going to be the Corvairs are to tall. Limit the size of players?

Re: 20 Year Olds Restrictions
This league needs to deside what they are. They talk about being a development league, but then complain about players being coached by other leagues. They want good quality hockey, but then complain some teams are to good, to many 20yr players. They should be more focussed on raising the competive ...

I hold the coach and captain responsible for these actions. The league should come hard on this organization for this conduct. This is a black eye for the league, this should never happen.

Re: Limit 20 years old
I believe the league should be more concerned about the quality level of the weaker teams around the league than the number of 20yrs on a team. Any changes may push the talented 20 yrs to the GMHL that keeps expanding. They may be shooting themselves in the foot over this. Players are going to go wh...

Re: Caledonia 17 Pelham 1
This is Jr B hockey, not house league. The problem here is with the non competitive Pelham team. They are an absolute embarrassment to the OHA. I feel for the players, but they have no business playing at this level. I hope the OHA steps in and does not allow them to compete in the playoffs. It's no...

Re: Can anyone stop Caledonia in a best of seven series?
I guess it comes down to what you see as development. Is a 20 yr player that comes down a level to get more ice time a bad thing? Tyler Hill was told (written in an article) that his ice time was going to be reduced based on where the Storm were in the standings. He had options to stay, be traded or...

I think it's more their ability to out bid teams for releases. Plus kids want to be on a winner, that's the biggest draw.

Re: Can anyone stop Caledonia in a best of seven series?
Well written article. I hope the league does not make a snap decision based on one year. I look at jr hockey as a league for players 16-20. It is up to the teams how they put that 23 man roster together. Some focus on younger players, and cash in as they move up. Some develop and sell at the trade d...

Re: Can anyone stop Caledonia in a best of seven series?
I don't consider 20yrs overage. I think if they did limit the number a team can carry it may lower the level of talent. I think having older kids playing makes for better hockey. There are 20yr players looking to play college hockey and continue developing, they also can bring valuable leadership to...

Credit St. Kitts with a strong team effort last night, they worked hard every shift and were rewarded for it. Corvairs looked like they were going through the motions, slow and uninterested. Hopefully it's a wake call for them, to raise their compete level.

it's an honour to be named captain, not a right. The focus of the players should be on winning. At the end of the day it's a coaches decision.
