Re: Strathroy Troubles
The coach seems to be well liked but he's just not ready, OK hair though. To be fair, he didn't build this team and if propping the current GM up behind the bench is thought to be a solution, fans should recall no one gave his 17 year olds less ice than he did when he coached. Latina gets more ice i...

Re: Tonight's games, predictions
2/3 of St Thomas and London was a good match up last night as well. The Stars forwards out worked the London defence and built a solid lead that the Nats could not come back from. A solid effort from Valentini and Henderson helped to seal the deal. I thought in spite of the loss London played a more...

Re: Lambton Shores
Finally found an announcement from the Predators. I haven't seen one that says Dickson was fired, but since they've hired a new head coach, I guess that works. Lambton Shores Preds @LSPredatorsJrB 2 hours ago @RoopChanderdat would like to welcome new Head Coach Randy Pearce to the Preds. We wish h...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
Why do players flee, If Strathroy is the place to be. There you have it, my lame attempt at poetry for the day. As dismal as things may look in Strathroy, there are positives with some of the new Rockets. Bulitka will almost certatinly be in the OHL next season with Sudbury, young 17 year olds like ...

Re: Strathroy player runs, injures St.Marys goalie
Quick vs Tugwell was totally different from McGhee vs Town. It is just not a fair comparison. After a defensive breakdown, Tugwell left his crease to try to win a race for the puck with Quick and the collision occurred near the hash marks. Tugwell and Quick arrived at the puck at almost the same tim...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
I am more surprised that Lambton Shores hasn't done better so far after last season. Strathroy has been in trouble for a few years. As noted retaining players has been hard for them. If you talk to the fan base they haven't supported local talent very well. The prospect camp in May last year was as ...

another player wanting out of strathroy ? that makes quite a few over the last few season, another interesting stat ive realized in strathroy is there dwindling attendance numbers 2011-2012 617 avg, 2012-2013 662 avg, 2013-2014 629, 2014-2015 464, so far this season 330. that's a drop of 332 fans p...

Hopkins will be a big loss for the Maroons, but likely not the only 20 year old in the league weighing out playing being done this year or playing next year at 21.

Re: Strathroy player runs, injures St.Marys goalie
The only debate here is was it goaltender interference or charging the goaltender. McGhee appears to drop the puck at the Ringette Line, blow by the defenceman then turn into the goal crease where he collides with Town located at the the top of the crease where you would expect to find the goaltende...

Re: Strathroy player runs, injures St.Marys goalie
If it was as deliberate as you're making it out to be, why was there no retaliation from St. Marys? They may be the least penalized team, but when a guy takes a run at your goalie, or anyone, you defend it, and they didn't. They didn't retaliate at all. And since you're just reporting the news, whe...

Re: Strathroy player runs, injures St.Marys goalie
I hope to see this incident featured as "Incidental or Deliberate Contact You Make The Call #23. As Port says this post is here because it is news, not about baiting anyone. As I said earlier this type of play with an injury should raise questions. Other leagues would be reviewing the tapes for...

Re: Merlin Gone?
It is a shame that the coach is being made the scapegoat in St Marys. He has more credentials than most coaches in the league. Only Lambton Shores put out less effort to recruit players than St Marys. For some reason waiting to see who was leftover from the others teams as the principle method of pl...

Looks like the Western Conference coaching carousel is starting to turn. Rockets assistant Mike Herman has resigned citing workload demands with his job as the reason. Any thoughts who might step in to fill the void?

Re: Strathroy Troubles
Has nothing to do with hockey cycle. Good teams do what they have to do to win. Starts at the top leamington got new ownership and brought in one of the best coaches. Good coaches draw good players. Look at bill bowler in lasalle and as much as i dont want to say it look at mark davis everywhere he...

Re: Lambton Shores
This team should have started better on paper but that hasn't been the case. Coach Dickson has missed 5 of the first 15 games with suspensions, that likely hasn't been very helpful. They do have some young players that are still adjusting and are prone to undisciplined penalties at the wrong times. ...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
Rockets have lots of import space left and still have a roster spot open, so releasing a player to make room won't be necessary. I don't think this will hurt them. He has played in the NOJHL and NA3HL previously so he will bring some needed junior experience.

Re: Strathroy Troubles
Hockey is all about cycles and right now, it's my team's time to struggle. Bingo. I am not sure how well the cycle theory works in a league that doesn't use a draft system to balance teams, but I look forward to seeing Lambton Shores and Pelham compete for the Sutherland Cup, while Chatham and Cale...

I am not going to engage in a discussion that leads to slamming players for exercising their options, sorry if you are offended. Of course you will support your rockets, we wouldn't expect anything less. I am sure the rockets will be back in the thick of things one day.

Heard it was more then work oppurtunity. Been a rough couple years in strathroy. I know RG won't want to hear this but I have heard the same rumblings for over a year, and that one of the "work opportunity" players from this year was delayed from joining Exeter. In my opinion the Whitwort...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
Strathroy has been in trouble for a couple of years now. A look at the Exeter Hawks Jr C roster is a good place to start. Their 7 top scorers all all former Rockets, 3 could still be on the roster. For 2 consecutive years the Rockets have returned less than 1/3 of their roster. This is not usually a...

This is another great acquisition for St Thomas. With the earlier additions of Henderson and Vallentini this will put the Stars in a strong position to compete for the Western Conference title. They certainly are setting the bar very high. London has made some nice pick ups as well from Caledonia as...

There's circumstances regarding last year's trade that you're not aware of, and I'm not getting into specifics because I don't share team secrets, but Laberge wants to be a Strathroy Rocket. He's worked hard to become the captain of his hometown team and they'd have to be offering some serious cash...

It's some night thoughts Oggie, but good luck trying to get those 3 out of Strathroy. Last year Strathroy gave their overage captain a chance to win the Sutherland Cup when they sent him to Leamington. Would they do the same for Laberge? He has stuck around while many of his friends have gone to ch...

Re: Eric Henderson Joins St Thomas
I'm surprised by this too. Must have been a reason for trading his rights. Is St.Thomas closer to London than Leamington? I know OHL teams have wanted picks closer to their cities in the past. St.Thomas has been quite the surprise early. They look to have a top line that's racking up the points. Ad...

I am not sure what the actual date is but we are approaching that day on the calendar when 20 year olds that want to play Jr C as 21 year olds have to get on a C roster. I can see a few on the lower end teams wanting a trade to a contender or going to C for a crack at a championship before their jun...

Re: HURRICANES 9 ROCKETS 2
It was men against boys, and hats off to Guelph. 8-1 after 2, the damage could have been worse had they not let off on the gas in the 3rd. Strathroy to their credit they made some adjustments and bounced back nicely against Thorold with what will be a rare 0-0 tie with the new OT format. Starting ou...
