Soccer....The Death Knell of Hockey in Canada?

I have noticed an uneasy trend over the last decade or so regarding many parents signing up their kids to play soccer instead of hockey. It could very well be the high costs associated with playing hockey and indoor soccer venues are popping up all over the place but in my opinion this is sure to ef...

Re: Caledonia up 2-1 in series

The Corvairs ran into some penalty trouble in the first period which would explain the shots total however they were very fortunate indeed for the play of their goaltender in the third as the Viper offense which had sputtered to that point suddenly sprang to life. The penalty kill was also strong fo...

Re: LaSalle eliminates mighty Sugar Kings

Something must have happened on the bus ride home from Lasalle after Game 2 because the Sugar Kings were never the same after that. Who knows what goes on in the minds of these young men when momentum can change so quickly and for whatever reason. The Vipers deserve a lot of credit for the comeback ...

Re: Game 2 Caledonia at Leamington live on YouTube

I watched the later part of the game from here in Myrtle Beach and the picture was a little jumpy and froze at times but it was still the next best thing to being there. Special thanks to the crew that provided the feed. It looked like a great game all around and now we have a series.

Re: Sutherland Cup round 1 predictions

I think the larger ice surface will make the Corvair offense ever more lethal than it already is. Some opponents may wish to schedule games against them in a phone booth.

Re: Sutherland Cup round 1 predictions

From rankings and records alone I tend to agree with Port's predictions. I think we will get a more clear picture of how this plays out after each team has played a home game and gone through the "feeling out" process. The west will be looking to make a statement after last year.

Re: Where have all the former posters gone?

Great stuff! Hopefully the word reaches most of them and the forum returns to the glory days. By the way, the top dogs back then were the Canucks. Are they still owned and operated by the Mastertons?

Where have all the former posters gone?

I remember tagging along with this forum about seven or eight years ago after the administrator of the Peach King forum decided to lock out anyone that was not a Grimsby fan from their forum. As I recall there were some pretty colourful posters back then such as jdisher, tool, queenscowboy, dogpound...

Re: Falcons season over

Time for the OJHL to streamline it's watered-down league and bring teams like Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown, Bramalea and Streetsville back to Junior B to eliminate this problem. I think that as a whole the B league is a lot more competitive save for a few teams where there are quite a fe...

Re: Falcons season over

In a "shocking" turn of events Leamington goes into Lasalle and wins 3-2 after failing to do so on home ice the previous night thus ensuring the participation of both Western teams in the Sutherland semis. As I stated on the other forum this is why I am not a big fan of the wildcard system...

Re: Wildcard Team

Not a big fan of the wildcard system although it seems necessary to balance the divisions. I wish that the old Central Ontario Junior B league would return to create four leagues. It does not look good if the wildcard team ends up winning the whole thing especially if they defeat the team that initi...
