Re: eagles keep winning
HF1111, London has a better record and more points, so they're the best team in the GOJHL.

Re: eagles keep winning
Sometimes you just can't let things go. You always have to keep it there, ready to throw back into somebody's face.

Port Stanley Sailors Jr. D
I was checking out their website, since I know some people involved in the team and want to check out a game, and I noticed a HUGE mistake. For their roster, they have it hooked up to Pointstreak and they have the wrong team. They have the roster for the Port Dover Sailors, who are also a Jr. D tea...

It seems the Mid-West is all about firing their coaches so early into the season.

Sometimes they do back off, but no matter what they do, just a simple dump into the zone, it still manages to go in.

It's ok Eaglesrock, our Mighty from last year have fallen as well. Every team must fall at some point. Not everyone has a decade of being at the top like Chatham did.

Sept. 1, Rockets 3, Cullitons 2 OT.
The refs were late. Apparently they thought the game was in Stratford, so it didn't get started until about 8:00.

I like the darks better than the whites, but both look awesome. They're definitely better than those goldy/yellow lookin' things they had a few years ago.
And it's not like the swoosh is obvious and takes up the whole sweater. It's in the corner, on the shoulder.

Olympics
So Hockey Canada had to redesign their logo for the hockey sweaters for the Olympics. They've now unveiled them and I think they look good. What do you think? I just read some comments on some articles from people that didn't like the logo. They think it looks too commercial now with the Nike swoos...

Notice how when it's an American team that wants to be bought and brought to Canada he puts the kibosch on that pretty quick, but when it's a Canadian team being bought and moved to America, he has no qualms about it.

Stanley Cup Finals
I'm sure somebody watched the game last night. I just flipped it right around 10:00 just to see how my Pens were doing and it was 2nd intermission. Ron McLean was talking to Gary Bettman. Bettman was dancing around all of Ron's questions as best he could and trying to make his case as to why Pheoni...

They have arrested a couple from Guelph.... sam Again sam, you are wrong. You really should read the paper more closely. They were both from Woodstock. Actually lived a matter of blocks away from Tara McDonald. The guy briefly lived in Guelph, but moved back to Woodstock just over a year ago.

Forest, err Lambton Shores, have a couple owners that can support them financially until they can get their feet on the ground and start making a profit, or least enough to pay the bills for a season. Isn't the old adage, you have to spend money to make money. Nobody, not even Jim Balsilie, can exp...

I'm not making excuses. I honestly could give 2 shits about who is winning in the series and who does win the Suthie. My boys aren't in it, so I really don't care. It's not hockey season anymore, it's baseball season. The only reason I keep posting is because there are no baseball forums for the le...

Looking back, may the Creek shoulda played their game for the last RR game, instead of resting some of their boys. This is what happens when you tempt fate.

Good ol' Paul. He did EVERYTHING. He also ran a website for the team, or at least compiled the stats for it.
I believe I also heard at one point that he ran a hockey league, or ball hockey, in Thedford as well.

Jr. D Championship
Well, I'm gonna play long with the other levels of hockey thing. Congratulations to the North Middlesex Stars of the SOJHL. They won the Jr. D championship last night beating out Delhi. They were down 3-1 in the series and came back to win it. This is an amazing feat for this club because they've h...

Re: CONGRATULATIONS
Personally, I don't think we need a board on our page for other levels of hockey. There's a forum for Jr. C, if you want to post about Jr. C, go there. I believe there's a forum for Jr. D, if you want to post about Jr. D, go there. Actually, the site that the GHL uses has a board for the SOJHL, but...

Re: not about hockey at all
My first thought was why wasn't the older brother, who's 10, walking home from school with her, or at least somewhere near her where he could see her. Know what I mean? I know that when I was growing up and my brother still went to the same school, which wasn't very long, he walked home with me or ...

Personally, there's something fishy going on with that situation. I can't quite place it, which it'll probably come together when she's found, but there's something not right with everything that's been put in the papers.

Re: Sutherland Cup
You never know, this could work out for the Creek. The Knights pulled up Brantford's goalie for their game in London last night. I saw the highlights, and of course you only see what they want you to see, but some of those 5 goals were pretty weak, especially the OT GWG. Now, since the Suthie final...

Re: divison finals
I didn't look at what arena they were playing in, all I could remember was the Civic Centre, but figured they were playing at an arena that didn't have the internet connection for them to run Pointstreak, or they have a desktop computer for it and couldn't/wouldn't move it over to the other arena.

Re: divison finals
I see some funky things are goin' on with Pointstreak tonight. I'm guessing that the Brantford Civic Centre doesn't have internet, because there's no data for their game tonight, and there wasn't for their last game either. But the funky thing is the GHL game, says the final is 0-0, but when you lo...

Yes, but us seasoned veterans, we're pretty good at figuring out who people are. Plus, they have to login with the same name every time, unless they choose to be 2 or 3 different 'people', and after a few posts, you know what that person is like and what that post is going to be like.

Re: 1st 2 Brantford games
The Mid-West fans don't like the fact that you have to login to make a comment. They preferred their old forum where they could go and post as annonymous and nobody knew who exactly it was. Now that they have to login and everybody will know who it is, so then they can't 'attack' people the way the...

Talking about schedules, the GHL schedule has been set, but apparently the Falls can't get ice time for Fri., which is game 2, and are trying to get ice time for Sat and want Stoney Creek to re-schedule game 3, which is set for Sunday. As was commented, when setting a schedule, would you not confir...

Re: divison finals
Seem to recall having a discussion last season about how one league (now conference) finished late. I think that had to do with their regular season. I remember before we merged to become 1 league that the other conferences' schedules ran an extra week compared to ours, so we'd be mid-way through t...
