Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Caledonia Fan, totally agree 100% with you on both the Refereeing( terrible) and the Caledonia defense( they were awesome) Falcon defense good on 5 on 5's and pk but were terrible on the pp. Don't know if they are told to pass rather than shoot but their play on the man advantages was laughable.

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Yes I did. I think all good goalies will use whatever tools they have in their toolboxes to prevent the other team from scoring. It only works when you get away with it. The referees will take note if it happens too often in a game or if the referee is doing a second game in a series, he'll be watch...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Everyone saw the game pretty much as I did, with a few exceptions. First period was pretty much even, second period belonged to the Falcons mainly because they executed better and controlled play in their own end. The third period was all Corvairs from start to finish. From my vantage point what hap...

Heard in St.Catharines Friday night that Ozzie may not be back in Welland. Masterson could end up in Thorold. Just rumors, nothing confirmed.

Re: Attendance Numbers
When the Icedogs played there they would announce 3150 as a sellout. probably seats around 2700. No nothing gained by announcing lower numbers, just wondering if that number represents ticket sales only.

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Cali, not meaning to offend you but come on . You are either Chenard's mother or you have a dislike for Savory that is so strong that you can't make yourself give him credit for his outstanding play. In my opinion, the Falcons would be down 2-0 if it wasn't for his outstanding play so far in this se...

Attendance Numbers
I was at the Jack tonight with my wife and grandson and we really enjoyed the continued rivalry between the best 2 Jr.B teams in Ontario. I have only one question. There was clearly 1300/1400 fans there tonight. Why was the attendance announced at just over 900. Do they only count paid customers . :...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
As I have stated in the past, Savoury is the class of the Horseshoe Conference. Corvairs came out flying on all cylinders and their was no rust showing in their execution. They player strong and pushed the play early in the game. They were well rested and ready to go. Give the Falcons credit for a s...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Loved everything about the game. Hats off to the on ice officials, they let the guys play hockey and let them decide the outcome. Best officiated game I've seen in years.

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Hey SCF, i could go along with what you are hoping for. Then maybe we could see the best two Jr. B teams in Ontario battle it out like they did in the 2013/2014 Sutherland Cup Finals. (and what a great series that was)

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Cali, we are close in what we see but we do differ. Here's how I see it. Corvairs are deeper in the forward position. They have 3 lines that score on a regular pace while the Falcons have 2 lines that can be counted on. Caledonia's fourth line sees ice throughout the game. Falcons fourth line often ...

Re: St Catharines vs Niagara Falls
Enough of the chatter from people who probably were not there. #88 what were you thinking. Biggest game of the year for your team and you get a brain freeze. Absolutely no excuse for what you did. You let your team down. The Canucks played their brains out up until that point and the game could have...

Re: St Catharines vs Niagara Falls
Another good intense game. The Canucks wanted it more and Moore made sure he did his part. Both teams dominated at times but the Canucks just seem more determined than the Falcons. Refereeing was below standard again (a standard that is low to begin with ) for both teams but to be honest the Falcons...

Re: St Catharines vs Niagara Falls
Falcons dominated for most of the game. Canucks miss Mooney. Their defence looked lost at times. Terrible collision at Centre Ice. Perlic and Wright collided and Perlic didn't return. Looked like he received a bad cut and probably had to go for stitched. Wright looks like he suffered a knee injury. ...

Niagara Falls Review/St.Catharines Standard
Not to sound too critical but in reading the story in the Review on last night's game between the Falcons and the Canucks I find it rather annoying when the reported does not know or does not take the time to make sure that his reports is accurate. Here's a couple of examples. Last night he reported...

Re: First round playoff talk, And preview
I caught the 2nd and 3rd periods of the game on Wednesday and believe me the Falcons have nothing to worry about. This series will be over in 4. One thing I did noticed, every Pelham player had a full face shield ( not done in regular season ) with the chin straps so tight you would need a can opene...

Re: How will the OHA deal with the Buffalo/Thorold embarrassments next year
Buffalo, Thorold and Pelham should all be gone along with a few others from the West and Mid-West. I hope the OHA cuts back to have 2- 10 team conferences. Lets get Jr.B hockey back to the level we enjoyed not too many years ago. Give me a league that has more teams like Caledonia, St.Catharines,Elm...

Re: Thorold Blackhawks.
With having only 1 win it would be a complete joke to let Buffalo have a playoff spot . Do we really want to see 20 plus to 0 scores in the playoffs. Give the first place team a bye in the first round and then square up in the 2nd round.

Thorold Blackhawks.
For the second straight time, the Blackhawks have cancelled a home game. I was told by an arena staff person that the Hawks don't have enough players left to ice a team. What the hell is going on ? While changing their team logo, should they also change their names to the Thorold Regals. :smt011 :sm...

Right on Vairs61,Corvairs, right from the start controlled all aspects pertaining to this game. Canucks, like their coach can talk a good game but when push came to shove they disappeared. #10 for the Canucks is turning into being a real joke. I praised him in the past because I thought he was the k...

For sale makes sense now. Sell off all of your valuable assets, get as much cash in hand as possible and then sell the team at the end of the year. Rumor has it that their top 3 players brought in more than 30 grand in total.

I know Ulett was a decent player but he was also a cheap shot artist and thats probably the reason he was let go.

May as well trade them before they quit like so many others have( Thorold ) from their current rooster. Feel sorry for Coach Kelly who puts so much of himself into it only to have disgruntled owners destroy what has been put together.

Re: Caledonia VS St Catharines
Good point Cal Fan. Great come back win by the Corvairs. I thought Johnstone was completely out coached by the back up coaching staff from Caledonia. Johnstone :smt100 ran his top two D men into the ground in the second period. #12 was so tired after consecutive 3 min shifts he could hardly get off ...

Re: Niagara Falls
With the addition of Wright, I now see the Canucks as the #1 Challenger to Caledonia for the Division Crown, (not for !st place, Caledonia too far ahead) Caledonia have added, Canucks have added and so far the Falcons have made no moves to improve. Do they really think they have what they need to ad...
