Re: Trades

I was in Brampton too! I enjoyed the game, especially when it picked up in the 3rd period. I agree that Brampton isn't going to get rolled over in the play-offs and could be a spoiler. The person that wrote this article, I'd told them I would post it for them on the blog, but the more I thought abo...

Re: Trades

Most of those make zero sense...Many of those make no sense... Kitchener: They need forwards, just to have bodies. They've been playing a lot of games with 7-9 forwards. They also don't have a goalie at all right now. Richardson is up with the Rangers so much that he just plays games with them and i...

Re: Strathroy Troubles

Has nothing to do with hockey cycle. Good teams do what they have to do to win. Starts at the top leamington got new ownership and brought in one of the best coaches. Good coaches draw good players. Look at bill bowler in lasalle and as much as i dont want to say it look at mark davis everywhere he...

Re: Strathroy Troubles

I am not sure how well the cycle theory works in a league that doesn't use a draft system to balance teams, but I look forward to seeing Lambton Shores and Pelham compete for the Sutherland Cup, while Chatham and Caledonia miss the playoffs. There will always be teams in a league like this wh...

Re: Brantford shocking Mid-West

Brantford seems to be coming back down to earth. In their last 10 games they have 14 goals total with 34 goals against. Comparatively: Waterloo has 25 goals with 45 against Brampton has 23 goals with 48 against Cambridge has 28 goals with 24 against. Looks like Brantford has a solid goalie (Rawski's...

Re: Brantford shocking Mid-West

They were outworked by both Waterloo and Brampton and out shot pretty heavily. Big believer in analytics, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is a quick start. Look at Will Rawski last 4 games: DATE GAME RESULT DEC MIN GA SA SSV 09/18/15 @ Brampton 2-0 W 60:00 0 45 45 09/17/15 vs Waterloo 3-0 W 59:...

Re: Caledonia Signing

Your right a lot of teams scouts and GMs out at the practices. I was there the one night Waterloo and Welland was there lots of talk. I also heard the teams are there as a invite. But Caledonia is getting close I think. They had about 27 players out there . Four were goaltenders if your looking for ...

Re: Caledonia Signing

Anything can happen in hockey. I think the Caledonia Team is very humble and really doesn't say much. I wouldn't count out any team yet. So far everyone is undefeated. Anyone seen Ancaster or St. Catharines Camps. I heard Brantford has improved quite a bit and they seem to be winning their Exhibiti...

Re: Caledonia Signing

Tyler Hore is staying with the Greyhounds.I was at the Covairs practice last night. Team looking good. Some say better than last year. We will have to wait and see. Was at the Dutchmen and Siskins camps over the weekend talking to some scouts, coaches, etc. They all said the same thing -- Caledonia...

Re: Buffalo Folds Again

I got the idea from someone who was a board member of a Shoe team who told me that there was a team that didn't want Caledonia in and had voted to oust Buffalo and Ancaster because they didn't want the travel costs. That's where that comment comes from. It's pretty common knowledge that the Shoe do...

Re: New Season

I feel that the new import rule certainly puts the lower market teams at a disadvantage. It will be very hard for them to ever win a title. Teams with lots of cash can afford to hire a larger scouting and recruiting staff. The teams with the best programs and reputations will attract the best playe...

Re: New Season

Everyone is forgetting that the import rule was a big thing, but the new rule should really level the playing field for some smaller market teams in being able to offer ice time to players from the bigger midget teams to get them in their system early for development.

Re: New Season

Waterloo seems to have lost a TON of talent - Mrockowski, Hanlon (both top 5 GOJHL scorers last year), Betts, Campbell, etc. They have a brand new GM this year, and a young one, who was announced late-ish so he hasn't been as involved in recruiting from the looks of it. Cambridge looks to be one of ...
