Re: Wildcard Team
The Flyers have already punched their ticket too. Even if LaSalle performs a minor miracle and wins the next 3 to take the West, Leamington will easily win the wildcard with 11 wins. So the only question is can LaSalle win just 1 more game. If not the Falcons would easily win the wild card on goal d...

Re: Interesting rumor
I've heard rumours about a new coach in St. Thomas too. Personally I like Ron. His teams certainly have not under-achieved, if anything I feel he has exceeded expectations with the talent he has been given. He had a super young team this year. If he can keep that core around for next year, they coul...

Re: Wildcard Team
Ignore those winning percentages. Overtime losses count as losses not half a win like they do in the regular season. We ever ends up with the fewest losses, regulation and overtime combined will win the wild card.

Failing to Make the Cut
The GOJHL Conference Finals are ready to start on Wednesday, March 25. Four of the six teams competing will advance to the Sutherland Cup playoffs. Two will not. Which two teams do you think will be on the outside looking in?

Re: sarnia lasalle game 5
The Sarnia radio guys, who do a great job and have been calling things very, very fairly in the series, also shared a lot of your feelings Blades. They said the players on the ice just didn't know what was going to be called and what wasn't.

Re: Sarnia up 2-1 in series
Even the Sarnia radio guys were surprized that the clock was not set back. They said that it clearly ran down and LaSalle had a right to be upset about it. They said the second time the linesman dropped the puck for the faceoff but a ref was still chatting with a coach at the bench and the play was ...

Re: Flyers might be in trouble
Being down two games to nothing is a big hole for any team to crawl out of. There is little room for error now when the Flyers must win 4 of the next 5 to advance.

Re: Most historic organization
Off the top of my head I would say Waterloo and Stratford in the Midwest. Waterloo is the longest running Junior B team in the province starting in 1937. Their 11 Sutherland Cups is more than most teams can ever dream about. Stratford is one of the most recognizable hockey names in the entire countr...

Re: London Tv Station denied access by Maroons
Yes, quite right. I didn't pick that up. In that case Chatham had no right of refusing Rogers. London though could have refused to allow Chatham radio from broadcasting a game in their own rink. I always considered it a great compliment when Rogers came to our rink.

Re: London Tv Station denied access by Maroons
Well according to the rules outlined above if London does deny Chatham their radio broadcast (and they are entitled to if they wish), Chatham can deny London their TV broadcast. That would be some pretty nasty tit for tat.

Re: London Tv Station denied access by Maroons
According to the regulations below, it sounds like Chatham is fully within their rights to deny access, as well as London tonight. I hope not. I want to listen to the game. Re: Strathroy pushed to brink of elimination
A couple of Rocket disallowed goals in game 3. Vokes' high stick goal would made it 5-2 in the second, Dalton's net off goal came late in regulation with the game tied. They both look good to me. http://localsportsreport.com/gojhl/2015/03/03/you-make-the-call-5-vokes-high-stick-goal/ http://localspo...

Re: Nationals stun Maroons in opener
Right you are RG. I keep forgetting about that one because the Rockets actually finished tied for 6th but were awarded 7th on the tie-break. That also made London one of only a couple 3rd place teams to ever win the West. (I think the Sarnia Blast was the other when they finished tied for 2nd but we...

Re: Nationals stun Maroons in opener
It's pretty rare though. Only once in league history has a 7th seed (St. Thomas) upset a 2nd seed (Strathroy). Then they knocked off the top seed (London). Ron Horvat is certainly building on his resume of being able to get a lot out of a lower ranked club.

Re: Nationals stun Maroons in opener
I wasn't at the game, just listened to it on Chatham radio. They kept mentioning that for some reason the Maroons came out flat. The first period had a ton of whistles and they said London did an effective job of slowing down the tempo of the game and disrupting the flow. The Nats would use 1 forech...

Re: Chatham @ Lambton Shores Feb 14
There was a time when postponed games were not always played. A look back at final standings will show that not every team played all of there games in years past. Quite often they would wait until the season was over or nearly over to see if a game needed to be played. If it had no effect on the st...

Hopkins should have had the second assist on the Maroon's second goal. He moved the puck back to Annett at the point. Dennis tipped Annett's point shot for the goal.
