Re: 2016-2017 Season Predictions
Again Buffalo is a disgrace to this league. There's not one player on this team that should be playing above house league select.

Re: Welland Jr. Canadians
Right on Jax. The owner is also the GM. The Director of Player Personnel does what ever he is told to do by the owner. Yes I am an Ozzie supporter and its beyond me why he stays in Welland. I believe the level of hockey today has left the Welland owner and his Player Development person in the dust. ...

Welland Jr. Canadians
I was at the Thorold/Welland game last Wednesday and at the Welland/Niagara Falls game tonight and let me tell you if Ozzie doesn't get some :smt100 from his cheapskate :smt022 owner, he will be battling it out with Pelham and Buffalo for the covenant 9th place finish.I can not recall in recent hist...

Re: Caledonia going for four
Both of the Webb boys, Owen Green and Angle will all probably be sent back to St.Catharines. They will all probably be used as fill ins for the Jr.A clubs when ever needed. All of them are good players but not quite ready for the Show.

Thorold Blackhawks, should the name change, NEVER, should the Logo change, well maybe. Maybe change it to resemble a Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot.. What should change however is the mayor :smt119 and council in Thorold :smt015 , whom have allowed this to become a political football. I'm sure with a l...

From what I'm hearing the problem with the schedule is whether Buffalo is in or out. Apparently there's some question as to the timing of their (Buffalo) application to rejoin the league.

Hubbert was let go in late May. Was replaced by a former coach but I can't remember his name right now. I'll try a find out later. One of the new assistant coaches is Tony's son.

Re: Golden Horseshoe Top Three in GOJHL
I said it before and I'll say it again. The best two teams in Ontario were Caledonia and St.Catharines. Caledonia outshines all competition by a long shot but IMO the best series was when St.Catharines and the Corvairs tangled. St.Catharines never fell apart or quit in any of the third periods in wh...

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)
Iluvhackey, great and informative post. Caledonia management has stated they were in favour of a 16 year old requirement but I will believe it when I actually see them with 2 or 3 -16 year olds in their lineup. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words.

Re: Caledonia(1) vs Waterloo(4), Sutherland Cup Semifinals Playoff Thread, & Predictions
Nothing bad to say about Waterloo, they played above expectations but the Corvairs have under achieved in their last two games. Bullard was going absolutely nuts because of the players selfish play last night. Maybe all of the former OHL'ers are reading how good you all think they are and that they ...

Re: Stats primer for the 2016 Sutherland Cup* (aka, The Asterisk Series)
What the hell does Bullards salary have to do with what players are compensated. Bullard earns every cent they pay him. Coaching the Corvairs is only part of what his responsibilities are. Many of the good coaches in the GOJHL are well compensated for what they do and why shouldn't they be. They put...

Re: Caledonia(1) vs Waterloo(4), Sutherland Cup Semifinals Predictions
Agree with Beehive and Cali, this series will be over quickly. I will say it again, the Corvairs are going to go undefeated in this Sutherland Cup play-downs. Not saying this to down play the talent on the remaining teams in theses play downs, just saying this because the Corvairs are so strong thro...

Congrats to the Corvairs. They are deserving champs. :smt041 :smt041 Port you never seem to amaze me. You are the most misinformed, miss guided hockey fan I've ever seen :smt119 :smt119 . Re: Officials ruining Finals!!!
You are right about the two clowns tonight but calling Langon's hit on Hore a major is kind of stretching it. Hore has been folding like a cheap suit every time he gets hit hard all year. I think the refs are on to him just as they are on to Evans.

Re: OJHL SOMTHING STINKS
I was told (back then) that when the Horseshoe broke away from the GOJHL (two years ago) two teams were approached by representatives of the OJHL to see if there was any interest in those two teams moving to the OJHL :?: :?: . There was one team from the Shoe and one team from the Mid-West. Neither ...

Re: Conference Finals: Caledonia(1) vs St.Catharines(2), Playoff Thread & Predictions
Yes i really do. Lets face it , with the age and experience they have they are as good as some OHL teams (IMO) I'm taking nothing away from the remaining GOJHL teams, they are good in their own right but talk to any experienced GM in this league and they will echo the remarks I have made. I have bee...

Re: Conference Finals: Caledonia(1) vs St.Catharines(2), Playoff Thread & Predictions
I also believe Caledonia will win this series but don't make the mistake thinking Nia. Falls and St.Catharines are similar. The Falcons are much deeper than the Falls and with Girhiny behind the scene they are better coached. Wolfe is learning and Frank is a master of breaking down offences. With th...

Re: St.Catharines(2) vs Ancaster(3), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
Terrible call by Kindree on St.Catharines forward Hildebrandt with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. Kindree nailed him with a hit from behind which because it was called in the last 10 min of the 3rd period carries a one game suspension. Kindree obviously doesn't understand what constitute...

Re: Caledonia(1) vs Niagara Falls(4), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
Yes, I guess we do but I think we are on the same page when it come to evaluating competition for the Corvairs. Their stiffest competition will come from their own conference. Caledonia will eliminate the winner of the Ancaster/St.Kitts series in 5 games. I predict they will go undefeated throughout...

The Corvairs would never be allowed to act in the same fashion. Rizz has respect for all his opponents and
would never tolerate such action with his players.
Frank, take your team and go Tier 2, nobody will miss you or your gang of thugs.
Bring Terry back.

Re: St.Catharines(2) vs Ancaster(3), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
St.Catharines full value for their 3-2 overtime win tonight. Both teams played well but the depth in St.Catharines line up wore down the Avs. The goaltending was also great at both ends. Just a couple of points, so much for the bigger ice surface theory and Dozzi and Nagy were fighting. When the refs...
