Re: OHA ATTENDANCE FIGURES
Anybody that's expecting to see a fine Jr. A product out of Brantford this season better think again. The former Milton franchise has been putrid for years and under the same current ownership as today (DD) the team won a grand total of something like four games last season. When an owner who doesn'...

Re: OHA ATTENDANCE FIGURES
Since I'm an OJ guy, mostly through geography, I can assure all of you that most OJHL teams fudge attendance figures considerably. Some teams are worse than others and it's a bit of a running joke. Consistently the top attendance centres in the OJ are Wellington, Oakville, Cobourg, Kingston and Tren...

Re: 2018-19 Signings
To be clear, I believe you are correct when you say the OJHL have their cards. In saying that, without being able to register anything with Hockey Canada at this time, signing guys or trading is pretty much a mute point.
It's a commitment, but, not legally valid until things get sorted out.

Re: 2018-19 Signings
I believe the OJHL is currently involved in some dispute with the OHA, which in turn has left them locked out of the Hockey Canada registry. Thus, no real announcements of any player signings or trades coming from the OJHL on June 1st.

Re: 2018-19 Signings
Along with the previously mentioned Sheppard, it appears as if the Trenton Golden Hawks will add Griffen Fox of Thorold and Curtis Abbott of Stratford. I kind of question the decisions being made by some of these young men. Are they and their families doing due diligence and their homework about som...

Re: 2018-19 Signings
Some other GO guys I'm hearing are on the move to Jr. A. St Marys 16 year old Michael Andrews will sign with hometown Trenton. Bobby Harrison heading to the RBC Cup host in the AJHL. Ryan Nicholson of the Warriors will likely be joining de Jong in Oakville, with an outside possibility of Kaleb Pears...

Re: 2018-19 Signings
Hearing that Max Ewart has had enough of Trenton and will be coming back to the GO. Conversely, it appears as if Ancaster (Kilty's) goalie will be the man between the pipes for the Golden Hawks this season. Hearing about lots of other deals involving GOJHL talent moving on to the OJHL and other Jr. ...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Under the column of useless information to pass along, yet, might be of interest to a handful of parents or players in the GO who have interest in the OJHL. Ex NHLer and rather infamous individual, Jerome DuPont is out as Coach and General Manager of the TRENTON GOLDEN HAWKS. It is being reported, h...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Moves have started to come in. Some Nas transferring to the OJ so far are Albano to Georgetown, VanShubert to Aurora, Bryce Martin to Aurora, Jason Stacelbeck to Aurora, Mitchell Morrison to Burlington, Holden Hyrsko to Georgetown, Brendan D'Agostino to Georgetown via trade with rights holder Oakvil...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Talking to a friend of mine in the know on tenders,(he's a scout in a different league), I've been told a number of GOJHL goalies have been out making the rounds at various OJ spring camps. Again, not saying any of these guys are or aren't leaving the GO for Jr A, but, I do have some names of intere...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
I have zero confirmation of impeding signings, but I do know, the Fisher boys from Lambton Shores were spotted at at least one OJHL East spring camp recently. Does it mean they are about to sign with an OJHL club? Absolutely not....but, it does tell me that they are/were kicking tires and vice versa,...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Very shortly, meaning tomorrow June 1st, the yearly process of GO players defecting to the OJHL (and other Jr A leagues) will start up once again. Will it be a trickle or a stream of talent departing the GOJHL? We should know via twitter and other means of media within the next 24 hours what the exo...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Yes it is very true, Brent found himself a new gig. Seems as though Mr Ladds just won't go away quietly into retirement. Who could blame him.....he appears to be the King of the Mountain....getting all those free trips and perks....lol. For the record, I may be an OJ guy, but, I completely understan...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
The story about your friend is quite interesting, sad and upsetting all at the same time. Thank you for putting that out there, as stories such as yours need to be brought to light. It truly is amazing how slimy some individuals in the game truly are. Be it guys on the inside, like Jerome Dupont of ...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Some absolutely great points. I'm definitely not an apologist for the OJHL, and agree with most of what you are saying in regards to the OJHL. However, I do not believe there is some hidden agenda or motive coming from advisers or agents, trying to push players towards the OJ. It's a tad far fetched...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
In the OJHL, only the Georgetown Raiders (league champions...2016/17) and the Trenton Golden Hawks (league finalist) did not charge players last season. That's it! Everyone else charged an approximate range between $3,00 and $10,00. I'd suggest most OJ clubs are in the $4,500 to $6,500 area. It is w...

Re: why do players leave for the junior A leagues
Being an OJHL guy and frequent contributor to "In the Cage with Tigerpaws", I likely can offer a bit of insight on this particular topic. If anyone has a particular question or two, or would simply like clarification on anything OJ related, please ask away. I'm also somewhat in the know on...

Re: Lambton Shore Predators to Komoka?
Brand new to the forum. However, have been a semi regular follower for about a year. The Pedator franchise relocation caught my attention for a few reasons. With all the talk about player retention, thought I'd inform readers that there is a very real possibility that the brothers Fisher may bolt fo...
