I was downstairs after the game last night and overheard Girhiny talking to what I believe were parents and he was very high on his praise for both the Flyers and his Falcons. :smt038

Re: Canucks Pre Season Tournament

The Corvairs must really care. They are the only team that iced pretty much what will be their starting line up.
Enough about Ancaster not wanting to play 4 games in 2 days, lets face it,they got the Caledonia flu.

Canucks Pre Season Tournament

Looks like Ancaster and Caledonia both won their divisions. Does anybody have the results from the scheduled 6pm Championship game ?
Nothing listed on the Canucks site to relate to the final game. :smt102

Welland should be at every Jr.B camp. Many of their eligible returnees have decided to take their skills elsewhere. Hopefully they can fill the gaps and remain a respectable team in the Shoe.

Caledonia Signing

Heard this morning (but so far unable to confirm) that the Corvairs have inked Tyler Hore for the 2015/2016 season. Tyler played with the Soo Greyhounds last year. :smt038. Was also told that three different teams from Tier 2 Jr.A were also in hot pursuit of Tyler but were unsuccessful in their atte...

It's a shame that the OHA doesn't give this great league the recognition it deserves.

OHA AGM

It's been real quite and I'm wondering if anything pro-active came out of the AGM held last week end, regarding how to combat the new outlaw league that appears to be growing stronger in the GOJHL footprint. Anybody hear anything positive regarding this ? :?: :?:

Maybe the rebel league calling themselves Tier2 Jr.A will get the OHA of their over controlling high horse and grant the Jr.B clubs the designation of Jr.A as per their request of about 2 years ago.

There are 6 other teams in the Horseshoe that wish they enjoyed the success both on and off the ice that the Falcons have in the last 3 years. I'm betting that GOJHL Fan74's team hasn't faired as well either. :smt006 :smt006 :smt006

A different group from the same league have applied to play out of the Seymour Hannah in St.Catharines. It's a safe bet that this group will also be turned down based on past practices in St. Catharines. With the IceDogs and Falcons so well established in St. Kitts, there is no chance that another J...

Re: LaSalle eliminates mighty Sugar Kings

I would think being the Wild Card team and getting beat out in the finals is not all bad. You can get 3 home games in the semis and three more in the finals. Sure you want to win it all but if you do as St. Kitts did last year and get those 6 extra home games, it sure helps your bottom line and give...

Re: LaSalle eliminates mighty Sugar Kings

I know that the Wild Card solution is not perfect, but in the end you do end up with usually the top 4 teams. I'm not crazy about it either but it is a big improvement on the Round Robin. The Wild Card format does not let you choose who you get to play in the finals. Too many times with the old Roun...

The Sutherland Cup is not about the toughest or the best conference, it's about the best team. All 3 Conferences together are considered the best Jr.B League in Canada. Quit nit picking and enjoy what's in front of you. No, my team is still not playing but I enjoy watching the teams that are still i...

Caledonia Fan, my wife and I were also at the game and viewed it the same as you reported. I was expecting a high energy performance from both teams but what it turned out to be was a goalie clinic put on by Kevin Entmaa. Was also disappointed by the turn out. I expected a larger crowd considering t...

Like I've have stated before, Mike is a good coach but there are reasons why he can't get a job at a higher level considering his hockey background.
Some of those reasons may have been displayed in the last two games. :?: :?:

Was at the game tonight. Congrats to the Corvairs for winning their second consecutive Horseshoe Crown. You earned it. Great crowd and great atmosphere and to add to the excitement a great 50/50 jackpot. Now to the St.Catharines team, if this had been a war, you all would have received the Purple He...

Mitch Purdie, what were you thinking or did you stop thinking for that brief moment. I can't believe you would purposely try and injure another player by stomping on his leg with your skate while the player was still on his knees. But even worse than that is the fact that the boneheads in the OHA of...
