Re: flyers hang on to get back into series
I think Worrad is supposed to be back for game 4. He could be enough to give London the edge.

Re: London coach cries double standard
I don't disagree with the above but can't help feel that the coach is politicking (is that a word) for a Major Jr. job where working with younger kids is more of a priority. There has been a lot of social media on that topic throughout the season and it has continued into the playoffs. I say power t...

Re: Justin Tugwell
I'm trying to get a handle on this one from someone who might have been at the game. No doubt 70 saves is incredible and deserves all 3 stars, but was the play that lopsided? It looks like 26 of the shots came in OT (24 in the 1st OT alone!) So that's 46 shots vs. 23 during regulation. Did Leamingto...

Re: Round 2 predictions
My predictions sucked in Round 1, going 1 for 4. I called the near sure thing, Leamington in 4.
For Round 2:
Leamington over London in 5 or 6. I'd love to see the Nationals continue their run but just don't think it's in the cards.
Sarnia over Lasalle in 5. I'm not a big believer in Lasalle.

Re: Maroons one loss away from elimination
This whole kicking the net off thing is becoming tired, give it a rest. Someone is really counting the number of times London has kicked it off???
I'm not saying Chatham will lose in the end but it sounds to me like someone is getting their excuses ready...

I think you're taking my "David vs. Goliath" comment a little too literally. The point is one team is the underdog and the other is the favourite.

Even though I called Chatham to win this series, I for one would love to see the underdog pull it off. Classic David vs. Goliath.

Re: Nationals stun Maroons in opener
So far it looks like I was wrong in predicting Chatham to take this series in 4 or 5. However, as much as I would love to see the underdog London win, I still believe Chatham has the better team and will prevail in 6 or 7. But please, don't go down the poor officiating road, as Qwerty says above, &q...

Out On A Limb:
#3 Sarnia vs. #6 St. Thomas = St. Thomas in 7
#4 - LaSalle vs. #5 Strathroy = Strathroy in 6

Re: Caledonia's fire power, yikes
It can't really get old if it's the truth, now can it? Fact is when you look at the rosters of the other top teams around the league (yes, even Chatham), no one has anywhere near the number of imports that Caledonia does. And it doesn't really matter how you circumvent the rules to get them there, t...

Re: Caledonia's fire power, yikes
I don't really care, just curious. How does Caledonia get away with all of the imports on their team? Looking at the roster in Pointstreak, over half of their players are from outside of their zone! (Caledonia = Haldimand, Hamilton-Wentworth, Norfolk, Six Nations Reserve). http://gojhlcms.stats.poin...

Re: Justin Tugwell
I know I'm beating this thing to death but I have 1 last comment and then will shut up.
In watching the video again, how could London's #6 & #8 stand there with their goalie flat on his back? At least #9 came in for a little bit of payback.

Re: Justin Tugwell
RG, if you really want an answer to your question, as a goalie (50+ years worth) and goalie coach, anytime you can prevent a shot from happening it's 1 less that you have to stop. I encourage all goalies to play the puck as much as they can. Of course, that's just my opinion on how to play the posit...

Re: Justin Tugwell
The game video is now up on the London Nationals web site (2:40 mark). The goalie did not make a "last minute decision", he was going for the puck from the moment it was coming at him. The player made NO effort to avoid him. Spin it however you want, the bottom line is that the goalie is t...

Qwerty, thanks for the update and it's great news he's o.k.
I'm also glad you seem to agree that to say "the 2 collided" is bull. The player ran the goalie, plain and simple. How no penalty was called is beyond me.

Goals & Assists on Gamesheet
How is it possible with all of the eyes on the game and the existing technology that the credit for goals & assists on the official gamesheet is always wrong? In the last week alone I witnessed 3 errors that were never corrected, including kids getting points when they weren't even on the ice! O...

Guess I've still got a lot to learn about the league, although nothing really surprises me anymore. I thought London would stick with their self proclaimed youth movement and try to build for the future. Looks like the future is now. Port, does London now make your list of Sutherland Cup contenders?

Hate to be "that guy" but since when did the player dictate to the team? Seems to me these kids knew what they were getting into when they signed with St. Mary's, for better or worse. I for one applaud the team for letting them sit if that's what they chose. If the team can make a good dea...

Re: Golden Horseshoe Leaving?
Thanks. It seems like a step backward rather than forward. The cynic in me can't help but thinking that the Shoe has done a deal with the OHA to stay at Jr. B in exchange for concessions on imports and ??? I believe they were moderates on the Jr. A issue. And we know the OHA isn't above back room de...
