Re: Deadline Moves
I agree LaSalle and London winners. LaSalle- Beaudoin, Sarris and Veres is Primeau back? Cale Allen was a good depth move London - Sehovic and Trottier maybe the best pickups in the league. Should improve PP. John Adams good depth move. Chatham - Fraser good pick up. Conway is starting to come alon...

Re: Trades
Ross, Trottier, now Fraser. One would think Sarfati must be up for sale as well. It must be very discouraging for the players still there to see that the team is giving up on the season already. On paper this team should have competed for a midpack position, but with nothing really coming back in re...

Re: GOJHL All Star Game - CANCELLED
This is why scouts put a lot of weight into league games and playoffs and not these types of festivals. This years rosters look like a regurgitation of last years with a few scattered additions. Just speaking from the West I would like to see some new more faces than some that were already seen last...

With Valentini traded and the unlikely return of Henderson the proactive Stars have added forward Lucas Mastroianni and defenceman Matt McPherson to solidify some holes in the line-up. Re: Strathroy Troubles
It looks like the Williams suspension has now been set at just 4 games. The news is as good as it could possibly get for the offensively challenged Rockets already missing McRoberts (injury) and McGhee who was named captain of the Saunders Secondary School Hockey team and will not be returning to Jr...

I am 99.9% sure this is the same player and unfortunately not this kid's first brush with the law. The consequences this time could be far worse that just a 19 game suspension that he was originally handed.

I noticed that the Williams suspension is currently sitting at a minimum 4 games but could escalate if the league reviews the tape of the incident.

You missed a great comeback Saturday night led by Latina. Sunday was the best game that I have seen him play. Also of note Strathroy only dressed 11 forwards last night for some reason Sitting out were newly acquired Dillon Saunders, Lucan Irish Jr C sniper Dawson Cook as well as London Jr Knights f...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
The league penalty minute leader kept his emotions in check over the weekend and was a huge factor in their success. I didn't know that Matt McCartney played for us. When did that happen? Try to pay Strathroy a compliment and see what happens. Looks like I forgot to check the updated stats before I...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
I would say the Rockets had a very good weekend collecting 3 of 4 possible points from the top 2 teams in the league. As for the reffing Sunday night I have seen worse this year. Leamington had opportunities to take advantage of some undisciplined Strathroy penalties but instead chose to even up the...

Why would your post vanish ohaguru? Like with any team the overall results on the ice are products of leadership. Blaming the players only goes so far.

Re: Buyers and Sellers
Leamington will not do much else if anything. Definitely not sellers. St Thomas is already looking to add a veteran defenceman and will be looking for a couple of forwards shortly. Ryan Valentini was traded to Sudbury OHL yesterday so he did not play against Strathroy last night. Eric Henderson is e...

Re: SOJHL, Did anybody else see this!?
Hill started the season with Lambeth and played 5 games with them before joining Lucan. There could be some bad blood that previously existed, not that there is any excuse for a player to attempt to injure another player. He may have trouble finding a roster spot anywhere after this

Re: Maroon meltdown?
Fans do get attached to their players otherwise they wouldn't be fans. The sheer number of players choosing to leave Chatham should be concerning. This isn't a team struggling to win, so whatever is driving the players away will likely continue to do so. Too many teams like to blame everyone else fo...

Re: Two leave Strathroy for Jr.C
Tonight should be an interesting match up against the London Nationals. Just 2 weeks ago the Rockets embarrassed the Nats 4-0 and got full value from the London residents on the Rocket roster. This time they will have to do it without Riley OConnell (5 pts in 3 games) and Mat Oulett who played in al...

Re: Two leave Strathroy for Jr.C
2-1-1 isn't what I would call having a teams number. The division is very tight this year and as we have seen any team seems to be able to beat anyone that doesn't show up to play on any given night. Nothing will be cast in stone but 6,7,8 or 9th are definitely up for grabs this year. In a best of 7...

It was a combination of both Strathroy playing well and LaSalle not playing well. As noted the team that played better won the game.RocketGirl wrote:So it's not that we played an extremely good game, LaSalle didn't play well, that's why they lost? You know who you're starting to sound like.....

Re: Two leave Strathroy for Jr.C
Well since you asked...... last nights game was as good an effort as the Rockets put out in London. The keys to the game were the tenacity of Nick Griffin and the league penalty minute leader stayed out of the box. It goes to show that hard work and disciplined play can beat talent. That said, anyon...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
As I drove past the WMMC this morning I could see the white flag proudly flapping in the wind. With the breaking news that the top scorer and top goalie have left for greener pastures one has to wonder when the board of directors will step in and make a change. This follows the previous voluntary de...

Other defectors have just had their pictures taken down fro...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
Judging by the win/loss record Strathroy has had a lot of "bad bounces" this year if one was to really believe that this team is that close to the top or mid pack teams in the league this year. I saw them play in London last Wednesday and Strathroy got a well deserved win over a much more ...

Re: ROCKETS WIN ROCKETS WIN
A well deserved win tonight for Strathroy. After being badly outshot in the first the Rockets capitalized on some defensive letdowns by the Nats. The Rockets beat the Nats to the puck very routinely and played a disciplined game for the most part. Riggin played his young players and was rewarded. Ou...

Re: Strathroy Troubles
I know on Saturday night there was a lot of chatter and speculation about the GM re-appointing himself as the coach. Personally I don't think that would change much. Some of the young Rockets will become good JrB players eventually and I think you are correct when you say some of the ones out of min...

Nick Griffin has walked away from the Rockets and hockey all together. Has just lost the passion and enjoyment off the game This is the 2nd player to leave Rocketland in the last 2 weeks. Very well written RG, I had lost track of how many. I agree in the GOJHL this maybe the Year of the Scapegoat. At the beginning of the year I would have said this is a tough league to step into with out experience. That said, both Malinowski and Dickson have been replaced by young rookie coaches cha...
