Re: The OHA
The well being of the players needs to be the top priority at this point. Players with Brantford (aka Milton) in the OJHL and every team in the GOJHL have been adversely affected by the OHA's refusal to assign game officials protocol as a substitute for doing due diligence.

'After Darren DeDobbelaer bought the Icehawks in 2017, he requested to move the team to Brantford earlier this year. According to DeDobbelaer, the OHA did not respond to his request so the team went ahead and moved.' https://www.brantfordexpositor.ca/sports/local-sports/junior-a-99ers-revert-to-mil...

Re: HockeyTV
Full year pass was $200 if bought before Sept 1, it isn't just GOJHL, also covers every Jr A league in Canada plus USHL, NAHL and even some high profile minor hockey tournaments. If you are only going to watch one GOJHL teams road games it comes out to averages out to $8-10 per game, but almost all ...

Re: The OHA
The OHA has likely been advised by their legal team to remain silent, any statement on their part can be used as evidence against them.

Re: The OHA
These decisions or lack there of are not only an embarrassment to hockey in Ontario, but they are now affecting the players who should be the most important consideration but seem to be more of an afterthought. This should be about them and the game. The inefficient ostriches from the OHA should hav...

Re: GOJHL Issues
Statement from the OJHL http://ojhl.pointstreaksites.com/view/ojhl/news-21/news_509272 Not sure if anyone has considered the end game but if this team move was an issue the time to object to it should have long past. I imagine there is a lot of potential litigation from players to sponsors to ticket...

Re: GOJHL Issues
If a player participates in any way shape or form with a non sanctioned league after Sept 30 of a given year the player shall be suspended from any Hockey Canada sanctioned activity for the remainder of the current season. This means if the player is released in November from the non sanctioned team...

Re: GOJHL Issues
Should have made a southern ont Jr. a league in first place and all this crap would have been solved and players would be all set to go There should have been, however it is easier said than done now. All 133 Jr A teams are in the 10 Jr A leagues that are governed by the CJHL. GOJHL Inc attempted t...

GOJHL Issues
Found a very well written article in the Stratford Beacon Herald that seems very unbiased and is consistent with what I have been told.

Re: Playoff format
I think it has potential. With 6 divisions split by 2 conferences an unbalanced schedule could be created. Most divisions would be 4 teams. Having them play 8 games against each other (24 total) would create some very intense and bitter rivalries. Rivals draw in more fans and creates more revenue. T...

Re: Playoff format
I would start with the leagues that players are leaving to join now, excluding the OJHL. Reason being if you want to be more attractive than the OJHL you need to look at where players go when they bypass them and why. I would look at the USHL,NAHL,WSHL in the US and the 6 legitimate JrA leagues in C...

Re: Playoff format
Well Raging BS, first thought after reading your comments was to tear you a new one but on second thought, I thought educating you might enlighten you as to what happens in the real world.. You obviously have no idea what it takes to run a franchise in the GOJHL. Have you not noticed in recent year...

Re: 2018-19 Signings
There used to be a limit. 5 years ago teams were limited to 7 import spots. Those imports came in two forms, non Canadians and non locals. Teams had territorial rights to players. Canadian imports would use an import card there first year with the team. For instance, a player from London going to Wa...

Re: Playoff format
RagingBS, I for the most part enjoyed Ports posts. They were generally based on facts, unlike yours. Port has been involved in the Jr.B league for quite some time, he's been there and done that. Have You ? Port lose the HS reference, go with Howard Cosell, its more appropriate. Howard Stern is a mo...

Re: Playoff format
I have always found that Port tells it like it is and doesn't just tow the party line. I think being known as the Howard Stern of the GOJHL is fitting. Welcome back Port.

Playoff format
Now that the GOJHL is down to 25 teams, has any consideration been given to reducing the number of teams that make it to playoffs? If they go with top 8 in each conference again it will result in only 1 team from the West missing playoffs. The entire Midwest and Golden Horseshoe would still make app...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
At the end of the day, paragraph 3 outlines what prevented this event from being sanctioned and what will prevent future events from being sanctioned. Obviously GOJHL Inc did not provide the necessary documentation in a timely manner. This is an event that the OHA should set guidelines for since it ...

The event scheduled for the weekend of September 8th has been postponed due to wha...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
If what she states in the second paragraph is true, why were they in the process of getting ref's for a non sanctioned group ???? ME THINKS WOMEN SPEAKS WITH FORKED TONGUE. Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
I am sure Pelham did meet the expectations/financial criteria/ requirements for a preseason tournament or it wouldn't have been sanctioned. One would think something billed as "the" league showcase would need to meet a higher level of criteria than a tournament. Equal access (entry fee) fo...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
Here is something I don't understand. What is the position of the non- Inc teams ? The fact that they don't want to pay their GOJHL fess is one thing but what do they really want. Do they want a cap on player's fees ? Its funny that the majority of the non -Inc teams are the ones that appear on the...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
It would be interesting to know if this was from a league official or a MYFM employee that does play by play for one of the teams. The original story from last week Curtis Clairmont also mentioned that there are 2 schedules already made out, one for just the 15 GOJHL INC teams and the other with all...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
I don't buy the argument that this is all about the players. I will call BS on that. It is funny that Hamilton is part of the non-Inc teams but they were the only ones to admit they charged 3500 / player last year. As the owner said Hockey is expensive. He charged the maximum amount allowed and has...
