Re: Sutherland Cup Semi Finals; Caledonia vs Elmira
Excellent post oldtymer. That is precisely the point. Every year they will simply re-stock by buying and paying high amounts to the players that they really want. Money is no object, which is why the majority of the fans I've talked to over the last couple of years can't stand them. Not because the...

Re: Caledonia deserves a lot of credit
Not really. Everybody knows what the top players in the league get paid from almost every team. St kitts, Niagara Falls, Chatham spent tons (didn't pay there players but promised too), London, Elmira. Of course players are getting paid. How much, very few know (i have rough estimates). But yes, I ha...

Re: Caledonia deserves a lot of credit
My view is not like the one above^^^...they changed the roster rules due to Caledonia abusing the old one, they still had more ex-OHLers than anyone else this season. How are they able to do that? Do the ex-OHLers play in Caledonia for the beauty of the town, the great educational system the city h...

Re: Caledonia deserves a lot of credit
There is some money exchanged hands but different ways. Talking to people the players work for the owner. So if you still don't beleive players call to a organization then here's some names - Tyler hill called after Guelph told him that they were gonna use there younger guys - Davis brown called aft...

Re: Caledonia Bushleaguers Bushwhacked!!!
Wow not like winning a 3 years in row does anything eh? If your that stupid to expect it every year then u have problems I'm sorry. Maybe your just mad cuz your team couldn't be the one to take them down. Have fun knowing that your team was at best the 5th team in the league. its funny seeing a fan ...

Re: Sutherland Cup Semi Finals; Listowel vs London
Uhhhhh were they not boarding? The second one with he hit on Lindy was a iffy call but the first one in the game leading to Craevich's goal was boarding. They could've called a lot more than what they did either way. What about Reinhart kicking off the nets every time Cali has a chance to score and ...

best goalie since furlongILuvHackey wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2017 10:09 am Elmira was the best team in the Midwest, IMO. Sometimes teams hit snags and I felt they did that in the Cherrey Finals.
But Reinhart can straight up win the Suthy himself - he's the best goalie I've seen play in our league in a long time.

Re: Sutherland Cup Semi Finals; Caledonia vs Elmira
All I can think about was how many posts were on here last season during the finals about how 'Bully' knows how to coach and motivate his players..bla bla bla. Clearly just a guy that stands there and rolls his lines, being exposed this playoffs without those few big guns on the team. No answers at...

Re: Sutherland Cup Semifinals: Elmira vs Caledonia
Well they wear the opposition down for the 4 or 5 shifts they were getting in games against st kitts. Crevice has to kinda try and do it by himself. But he needs somebody with speed to get the puck up the ice for him so he can just shoot. D are rushing there plays and making mistakes. Seemed like th...

Re: Sutherland Cup Semifinals: Elmira vs Caledonia
The polio line in my opinion was the best line last night and i think bully saw that and even gave them a few PP shifts. Craevich and shulz are the ones who have looked lost. They keep trying out different people on that line that just don't work out. Personally, I would try Mallete because he was o...

Re: Sutherland Cup Semi Finals; Caledonia vs Elmira
Elmira certainly deserved too win that game. Maybe even by a bit more than that if not for some great saves by Chenard. Totally different team then what I saw against Listowel. Good for them. Hopefully they can keep playing like that and make it a great series. Sunday should be a good one. But it wi...

Re: Whalers looked great this year, won Russell Cup
Good for them but they did it with a bit of help with spending the money did in a weak league. When you are scoring double digits in a final then something is wrong. Glad for the players though

Re: Sutherland Cup Semi Finals; Listowel vs London
Have only seen London once but i have heard from a ton of people they are very comparable to a ancaster. And fro m what i saw i elmira listowel is very comparable to Niagara Falls. I think it will be a dogfight but I'm going with Listowel in 6.

Re: Finals; Listowel vs Elmira predictions
Elmira looked a step behind in the first and couldn't keep up. Then the script flipped in the second but elmira couldn't capitalize. But was a even 3rd. Listowel was clearly the better team tonight. Brown didn't seem like he was skating like he was in Caledonia in the past either. And boy does Utlet...

Re: St Catharines vs Niagara Falls
My comment was in regards to how wrong it was for fans to try to influence refs, but the irony of a player cheating to get a call. Yea every player try to take advantage of the refs. Not cheating if you don't get caught. So that is done by every player and can't really be brought into the other arg...

Re: St Catharines vs Niagara Falls
i think what Cali99 is trying to say is that there is a lot of uneducated fans that whine about nothing (not saying its just St.Kitts because everywhere has some). They keep complaining about every single play and at some point they should likely realize that there watching hockey not basketball or ...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
It is al about who had the best record during the regular season. So it would be
1. Caledonia
2. listowel
3. Elmira (If them or listowel get wildcard they are 4th)
4. London (will be third and will be ahead of the wildcard team)

Gee,wonder why Homes didn't go back to the vairs this year.Speaking to Western people for a few years now, they seem to think London's been playing that game a lot longer than the Vairs have. Oh I get it now, it's Gomes not Homes as in Nathan Gomes...as far as I know he is living in London and atte...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
On the Mariniers high sticking penalty, it was pretty laughable. Punk grabbed his stick and brought it towards his face. and even on the ground still was holding his stick. He did a fantastic job not letting the refs see him on the way back to the bench, cuz when he got there he bit his lip so he wo...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Have you ever heard the theory that a goalie is only as strong as the D/team in front of him? That is exactly the whole point. Of course he has some of the best numbers when he has the best D in front of him. But it really doesn't matter at this point. The goal is to try and win games at this point...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Maybe the shots are at his chest bc his angles are good and he's in good position. Just a thought ? Hes in position but its partly because the shots are coming from far out. The St.Kitts Defence are so good at boxing people out from the from too the net and not letting the puck get in front. Of cou...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
One other small thing, the Corvairs didn't start scoring in the third because they start shooting at the corners. Their last 4 goals were scored on deflections from guys getting to the right place at the right time. It's called team execution. I know some of you think I'm saying that because of wha...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
score was not indicative of the game tonight. The Falcons in the first 2 periods gave it all they had. ButA in the third they did not look like the same team at all. A couple of there guys were banged up at the end of the second (Felker got hit hard and wasn't on the bench to start the third, Webb h...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Im not tying to say that he is a bad goalie at all. For sure he is one of the better goalies in the league or else st kitts wouldn't of signed him. But what I'm trying to say which is very hard without conveying the message that i think he is bad is that there are other factors that help bump up his...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
Cali, not meaning to offend you but come on . You are either Chenard's mother or you have a dislike for Savory that is so strong that you can't make yourself give him credit for his outstanding play. In my opinion, the Falcons would be down 2-0 if it wasn't for his outstanding play so far in this s...

Re: Finals; Caledonia vs St.Catharines
We can agree to disagree. To suggest the Falcons have more 'real' scoring chances than the Corvairs, which in essence makes the Corvairs goalie better, is, well, ludicrous. I was at the game. No comparison to goalies. (Now, I know the Vairs #1 isn't in net), but Savory's rebound control is lights o...
