Look at that last night Lockport beats Welland and now tonight Thorold beats Pelham.

Re: Is the golden Horseshoe going to be the weakest of the Conferences?
Out of the 3 conferences yes it will probably be the weakest but I think anyone can win on any night. It will be a dog fight for 2-8 I think.

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts
Any team can beat any team on any night in the Shoe this season if they take there foot off the gas. Key example Sunday in Welland. Falls almost blew a 7-0 lead. Probably would have if Welland did not take a stupid penalty with 4 minutes to go.

Yep seen that. The 3 is just for the GM21 and GRM60. They will discipline for the GE25 once the referees submit report

Re: Hamilton/Thorold tonight
Happened in Welland tonight to. Lockport assistant coach went crazy over a bench minor. Threw a clipboard and goalie stick on ice. The goalie stick was inches from linesman. He got a match, game and a gross.

It will probably change once the refs write it all up. Not often do they hand out travesty anymore.

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts
I disagree with you there. I thought Welland hasn't looked too bad considering they've had three ice times with the full team. Sloppy and things need to get better, but defense looks Ok and goaltending looks real solid for them. The games I've seen from Hamilton, they haven't impressed me. I think ...

Re: Regular season predictions
My top 4 who will battle all season long
Falls
Hamilton
St. Catharines
Pelham
Thorold
Lockport
Welland
Fort Erie
Seen Lockport play a few times in the pre season and I think they will battle with Thorold for 5th. Welland is a giant mess and could very easily come last.

Re: Social Media
Granted owners don't always have much to say in terms of arena ice management, etc. But if Wellands ownership was not to blame for any or all things gone wrong for that team. Why is it that only 1 player from the entire roster from last year has returned? Players usually can't wait to come back and...

Re: Social Media
Welland has been fighting with the city to put in the ice early for years now and they will not. Hence why basically no teams play out of there anymore because the city has run them all out of town. Not to mention a city and town right next door have new rinks.

Re: 2018-19 Predictions
Not knowing so much about the West or Mid West I will not even attempt to predict. If I had to guess the usual Listowel/Elmira in Mid and London in the West My standings prediction for the Shoe Falls (Best team on paper. Goaltending scares me though) St. Catharines Hamilton Pelham Welland Thorold Lo...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
The 18 teams that were going to play would have probably have made this one of the best showcases to date. The 18 teams are most likely the most talented teams in the GOJHL. Not having the likes of Buffalo, Pelham, Fort Erie and Brantford not attending was a sure sign that this would have been a ve...

Re: 2018/2019 Schedule
They opted out of the GOJHL . The showcase is run by the GOJHL and from what I understand they were allowed to play in it if they paid a fee. Welland, NF and Welland paid and are in. The other teams opted out, did not pay or whatever terminology you want to use. I believe that the ball was in Pelha...

Re: 2018-19 Signings
I am not so sure about Port did it wrong when you look at the costs of those extras. The Shoe does not draw that many fans anymore so it makes no sense to build an arena of that size for Junior B hockey. The Falls built a beautiful arena but it does not attract any more fans than they did before. I...

Here's an update on the schedule situation. Apparently, they have two completed schedules ready to go depending on the final decision. http://www.bpsportsniagara.ca/falcons-may-fly-away/ Why would the OHF entertain the idea of forcing a league realignment that increases travel expenses for almost e...

The Kilty Bees, according to their website, are playing Friday at 5pm at the Gale Centre in St. Catharines..I believe this should read Niagara Falls.. against Thorold, the Canucks at the same place Saturday at half past twelve and Sunday at 11 against Welland. The Kilty B's open the GOJHL regular-s...
