http://www.sachem.ca/sports-story/6892424-should-the-oha-implement-relegation-and-promotion-/ It sounds like a good idea but all most in possible to do. Re: Caledonia going for four
Looks like Caledonia has added Kyle West. A '98 birth year(forward). He should add some offense. Add offense he had 4 assists last year in Guelph. He's not the answer for them A year of OHL experience? Once he comes back to B, the game will slow down and he'll likely be a 60+ point guy. Heck, he ha...

Agreed. Originally thought Brampton was the worst coming into the season, and then I saw Brantford. Considering they have their four top D back, Walker back, an OHL goalie, and a number of other returnees, they shouldn't be this bad....
Again, embarrassing.

Zanussi has been awful to start, and that team can't score to save it's life. Was in Brantford to see them and Guelph last night with the only MW game on... they had THREE pucks thrown for "Chuck a Puck". I was told they had seven for their home opener. The only people showing up are famil...

Re: Buffalo and Imports
The rule is 7 imports I believe? Imports are only those who are outside the entire GOJHL footprint, so they should be able to have as many Canadians as they want.
Now do the other GOJHL teams have the ability to have as many Buffalo kids as they want, but all other Americans are imports?

Early Mid-West Opinions
So here we are 4-5 games into the season... 6 for Listowel and 3 for Brantford (who makes the schedule?). Any surprises? Thoughts? Listowel: Holy smokes are they on fire. They lose Huber, but Lansink becomes Superman with 19 points (11 goals) in his first 6 games. Rookie '99 goalie Brock Baier has a...

Re: Golden Horseshoe lacks offence
Everyone in the Shoe will score 20 goals if they have to play Buffalo six times. Why did they let them back in the league? If the OHA had any balls they would kick them out now and re-do the schedule (which they should have done to Pelham last season). You might get 10 people in your rink when you ...

Re: 2016 SHOWCASE WEEKEND
A little early for all for these predictions ... still a lot of cuts coming from Junior A ranks. Not really. A couple OHL guys might get sent back, but for the most part OHL and OJHL teams are all down to their rosters. And it's very unlikely that OJ cuts would drastically alter what GOJHL teams wo...

I'd agree that there's no comparing those two circumstances, but let's not be calling Caledonia "youthful".
That's still an old team. 2nd oldest in the league by average age behind Thorold.

I thought Kitchener was going to be the team in the Mid-West, but what I saw this weekend says Stratford might be the team to beat in the league. They are big, fast and mean.

Re: 2016-17 Predictions
Scott's Mid-West preview: http://localsportsreport.com/gojhl/2016/09/08/midwestern-conference-preview/ Pretty much screwed up every team. Kitchener does not have Schnarr (was in Waterloo, now in Guelph OHL), Lazzarino or Richardson. And they are mostly an old defense with four 20 year olds. Brampto...

A 2000 who was a 6th round pick? Unlikely.15timechamps wrote:We also lost Tyler angle. Who will play with Windsor.
He might have signed, but that's likely more to do with education package. He'll be put on a B card and used as an AP I'd bet.
ESPECIALLY since Windsor is going all in for Mem Cup.

I was there Friday night they looked fine definitely had more than 12 skaters and lost to Ft Erie 4-2 with an empty netter. I heard similar results against Thorold close game think it was a 1 or 2 goal deficit. Not sure what happened against Pelham wasn't at the games, seems odd when they were fine...

Brantford Arena
Was in Brantford last night, and the game wasn't played on the main rink surface. When I peaked into the bar that shares glass with the main rink to grab a beer, I saw a bunch of man lifts and construction equipment on the concrete floor as there was no ice in there. Anyone know what's up? Hopefully...
