Re: 19/20 Season Predictions

I guess not many expected much out of St.Marys. I expected them to have a good season, but not a 7-1 start good.

Re: Problems in Paradise

They just lost one of their better forwards to Caledonia. The kid was unhappy in Pelham since day one. Happy to see him get a chance at a cup.

Pelham picked up a pretty good goalie from Caledonia as well.

I've heard they might end up in Port Colborne to. I don't know if that's true or not. But I'd take Lockport over Toffolo's circus any day.

Re: Maroons almost toast?

This doesn't surprise me. As was stated above, you can't expect to win with one or two lines. That, and the coach isn't getting anything out of his top players. The kids from Caledonia have played like they could care less how their season goes. That tells most of the story right there. Terrible coa...

I didn't do too bad, I guess. Got the MidWest and the Shoe right.

Re: Last 10 Games

Strathroy looks great this season. They can realistically still finish as high as 4th place. Only 4 games below .500, not bad for a team that had a rough start to their season. After a few bad years it looks like the Rocket's are well on their way to becoming a top team in the West again. I've been ...

Re: London still going strong!

Coaching has been their biggest problem for several years now. You can't just load up on talent and expect the kids to find their own chemistry. Helping them fit in with each other is the coaches job. Look at St.Catharines, a very well coached team. They load up on talent, then trade away the kids ...

In Brad's defense, I think we've all seen games where a ref has a vendetta. I remember a Port vs Fort Erie game where the calls were 9-1 halfway through the game. You could see the smirk on the refs face.

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

It does seem like teams rush into making moves early these days. Maybe because they figure they need to find talent early, before other teams grab players. The Falcons are known for big moves though, some of them are very surprising. A few years ago they would trade skilled players to Thorold, the l...

Re: First week surprises, and thoughts

Not sure why Pelham has struggled, but they'll work through it. I look at it like there's two divisions in one here. You have, Niagara Falls, Hamilton, St.Cathairnes, and Pelham. They are capable of beating each other any night. Then there's the jokes of the league; Welland, Fort Erie, Lockport, and...

Pelham's on fire, 5-0 start to their season. Yep they have been quite good. Lets wait till they play Niagara Falls and St. Catharines though. I can't wait to see how they stack up against them. A longtime family friend's grandson is a top player on Pelham, so I have a bit of a soft spot for that gr...

Big game on Friday

Niagara Falls and Pelham play Friday in the Falls. Both teams are undefeated, and they might finish as the top 2 teams in the division this season. Niagara Falls(4-0) looks to have the deepest offence in the division. Evans & Kyle look like scoring machines, and they have a solid group of defenc...

I disagree with you there. I thought Welland hasn't looked too bad considering they've had three ice times with the full team. Sloppy and things need to get better, but defense looks Ok and goaltending looks real solid for them. The games I've seen from Hamilton, they haven't impressed me. I think ...

For a full pass, that's not that bad of a deal.
