Re: Patterson to get the nod against short-staffed Flyers

Ask and you shall receive. From Scott Holland. Never seen 2 goalie suspensions on one team - so Leamington's is a first. But there have been instances in the past where a single goalie has been suspended and the regular goalies have been hurt. In all cases usually an affiliated player has played. A...

Re: GOJHL Blog

It's Wed., so that means another profile. This week features Cale Allen from Leamington Flyers.

I'm trying to get 1 more profile, to finish out the regular season, which I hope to get this weekend.

Stratford Cullitons and Mitch Vandergunst

This is my thoughts on how Stratford dealt with the situation involving Mitch Vandergunst.

Re: Wild night as goalies duke it out

What's interesting here is that the Flyers have no goalie for Sat when they go to Sarnia.

For shooting the puck over the boards, Barrett's out for 2 games and Wheaton's got 2 for the fight in the last 10 minutes and removing his helmet.

Could make for a fun game at the Brock Street Barn.

Re: GOJHL Blog

This week's profile is a bit different. It's with Andrew Masters of Sarnia, but I'd done the interview at the All-Star game when he was still with St. Marys. I liked what he had to say about St. Marys and Merlin, so I didn't bother to re-interview him to get his thoughts on Sarnia and Rosey. http:/...

Re: St. Marys

What it means is that they made an agreement in the trade that at the end of the season they revert back to St. Marys property.

Petrolia/Lambton Shores had a kid that for a few seasons he would be traded at the deadline to a higher team for the playoffs. I used to call him rent-a-kid.

Congrats to Rosie! He's a good coach, and a great guy. Now if his boys would just start playing a little consistently......Or maybe they're looking to fall a couple spots and have another epic Strathroy-Sarnia play-off series. :)

Re: Play Off Format

You're separate according to the OHA. I have an email that says so.

And for the last time, and I mean last time, the reason you can still compete for the Sutherland Cup is because it is an OHA Jr. B Championship and the Golden Horseshoe is a recognized Jr. B league under the OHA.

We're clearly not going to agree on this, which is fine, I'm just stating that I don't agree with what Caledonia did. I wouldn't agree with it if it was any of the 18 teams of the GOJHL, mine included, or any of the other 7 in the Shoe. I get mind games, trying to psych out your opponents, which is...

What worse moves have you seen my boys pull Port?

I view what they did as disrespect for their opponents and I expect better of the 'best team in the province' and defending Sutherland Cup champions.

The Rockets sent Nick Whitworth to St. Marys for Ocean Check and have picked up Marcus Baird from Ancaster. The trades have been pretty quiet this year. You guys actually think it was ok for them to stand just before the red line staring down the Falcons? That's a dick move in my book, but I guess we're reading from different novels.

St. Thomas has picked up Caledonia's goalie, Branden Polasek. He's leading the goalies in the leagues. We'll see how he transitions to the West, but perhaps the Stars are looking at making a run this year.

Gotta love trade deadline day!

Should they do away with the shootout format? The Western and Midwestern Jr. C leagues have. http://localsportsreport.com/gojhl/2015/01/08/do-away-with-the-shootout/ As the article states, the shootout is purely a skills competition and in reality, you win as a team and loose as a team. I see now that the 402 from Kerwood Road to the 401 is closed due to a collision, but is expected to reopen soon. Initially I read that it was for poor visibility. It's in nasty in London today.

I'm hoping the game is still on because I'd like to go.

I'll keep watching to find out, but a portion of the 402 is closed this morning due to zero visibility and I'd be very surprised if the London/Sarnia game is a go tonight. I was hoping to go to that game, so I'll keep looking for updates and post any I see. What's the weather like Windsor way? Will...
