Re: Chatham turning into a joke!
What do you mean it's turning into a joke. It's been a joke for years. The only positive move they made in years was hiring Roeszler and they undid that in the span of one season. This ownership group gives nothing back the the community of Chatham-Kent. When will the people wake up?

Re: Leamington(1) vs Chatham(4), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
Leamington came to play and Chatham did not. Chatham’s defense was terrible and their power play (when they did get one) was brutal. Tonight Leamington physically took it to Chatham and many of the younger smaller players were intimidated and would not go into the corner to battle for the puck, Unfo...

Re: Leamington(1) vs Chatham(4), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
I kind of see it this way. Chatham was rather fortunate to come out with a win in game 1. They did all the right things in the first period, but did not adjust their style or game plan in the second and third periods. Leamington on the other hand did. They made defensive adjustments and for the most...

Re: Leamington(1) vs Chatham(4), 2nd Round Playoff Thread
Hey Flyers, your comment doesn't make sense. "They" are both Leamington and Chatham, so they are both playing three games in a row. That makes it even and a non-issue.

Re: 2nd Round Playoff Predictions
With the two towns only 45 minutes apart you should see fans from both sides at the opposing team’s home arena. What a great atmosphere is going to be. It is the young coach in Chatham that I have been impressed with all year. He has some great systems and I’m sure they will be well prepared. But a ...

Re: Flyers continue to roll on home ice
It’s just good conversation folks. Both sets of fans support their team. Nothing wrong with that. I agree that both teams are good but Leamington is the better team. Both have talent but the Flyers play with an edge that I wish the Maroon’s played with.

Hey Flyers… you are full of crap. There is now way that the 16 year old bit him. Your Flyers are a bunch of sh*t filled cowards. A check from behind into the boards and then a fight afterward.

Re: Flyers even season series with Maroons
Cato (4 games), Ford (2 games) and Johnson (2 games) all out for Chatham. To be honest they all looked like stupid undisciplined penalties by all three of them. The only good news is that it will force the other players to step up their game and fill in the gaps (I hope so). This will also be a good...

Re: Flyers even season series with Maroons
I was at the game as I am a season ticket holder for many years. The reffing was fine. The Flyers had more jump from the start and are a much more physical team than Chatham. The Maroons did not seem well prepared for this game at all. I can’t tell you if it was the players not having their heads on...

Re: Ownership
The Chatham ownership is bad to say the least. Players don’t have the basic equipment needs met (old helmets, beat-up visors, ripped up socks, ripped gloves, rationed stick and sock tape, no skate repair or skate sharpening). The coaches have very little say in personnel and the owner / GM suffers f...

Re: Trades
I hope you're right. Chatham needs Johnston back ASAP. Since he was moved to Flint they have gone 4-4. But the worst part of that is they have not beaten any of the teams that are consider their equal. Losing twice to London, once to St Thomas and once to LaSalle. Only beating St Mary’s twice, Lambt...

Re: blueline
Chatham’s defense did not play well last night against St. Thomas. With Cato out they showed their lack of depth and the lack of experience. Even more than before they need to make a move to provide some help back there. Butler did not play well either. He gave up some big rebounds that provided som...

Chatham Picks Up Forward
Chatham picks up Declan Conway from Fort Erie. I don’t know much about him but it seems to be a bit of an odd trade to make since he has not played for Fort Erie since November 14th.

Re: blueline
Winter and Nicholls were not getting any playing time with a 9 man defense. Percy is a loss but he did not want to be there so that was the right move. McKinnon & Levesque are vets, Cato, Douglas, Jacob are all very good promising rookies and Bussing has solid experience in NOJHL and other teams...

Re: maroons outwork flyers 6-3
I absolutely agree that the Maroons will get better over the next few months. I really like the younger head coach and the systems that he has them playing. I also like the speed that they have put on the ice. And with their recent pick up of Bussing they have added some toughness as well. I’m sure ...

Re: maroons outwork flyers 6-3
Good win by the Maroons tonight. Butler played very well. Leamington just keeps coming at you. Some great hockey for the fans. Would have been nice to see a bigger crowd tonight given the importance of this game.
I heard that Winters is heading back to St. Mary.

Re: Maroon meltdown?
The facts are simple. The owner (Bill Szekesy) bought the Maroons so his son would have a place to play hockey. Now that his son is no longer on the team, he does not care two cents for the team. He spends no money on the equipment (its old, all ripped and falling apart) and care less about the play...

I heard it was a different player as well. I would be surprised to see Cato leave. He appears to be on their first line defense + PP and PK.

Re: London and Chatham
I completely disagree about Roezler. He is the only reason they have done as well as they have. He has no support from the owner and GM and does what he can with what is made available to him. They are made to assemble a team on a shoe-string budget.
